I came across this image years ago and found it again today. Simple, yet couldn't explain industrialized construction any better. The firms that build the most complex work seem to have a solid balance of both of aspects. Some are even going as far to self perform multiple trades under one roof. What are your teams doing to leverage both construction processes and manufactured products? #prefabfriday #construction #manufacturing #innovation

Reflecting on a Year of Progress Using Technology This past year has been a transformative one for our team at M.P. Lundy Construction. We have made significant strides in leveraging technology to drive better outcomes across our projects. We have truly cracked the code on how to work more closely with our design consultant partners, supporting efforts to coordinate drawings between design disciplines. We have also been using our tech to mine for constructability issues early and addressing potential challenges before they arise. Tech for us is about clearer communication, faster analysis, and better decisions. With this investment in our approach, we are delivering projects more efficiently, reducing delays, and ensuring top-tier quality. It is incredible to see the positive impact these efforts have on our projects and the confidence it instills in our clients. We are excited to continue refining how we use our tech tools to push the boundaries of what is possible in construction. #ConstructionTech #Innovation #Teamwork #Efficiency #DesignCollaboration #ConstructionExcellence

Stereotypes are holding the construction industry back. We operate in a world of grand construction projects, where the stakes are high and the need for top-tier talent is paramount. But stereotypes persist, clouding our judgement and limiting our choices. Our industry demands exceptional minds – architects of tomorrow’s skylines, engineers sculpting the future, and executives orchestrating mega projects. These visionaries are not confined to any gender, race, or background. To truly excel, we must shatter the narrow confines of stereotypes. It’s not about quotas; it’s about recognising talent in its myriad forms. Challenging stereotypes isn’t just a moral imperative; it's a strategic necessity. Diverse perspectives breed innovation. They fuel creativity, enhance problem-solving, and fortify our teams against the complexities of modern construction challenges. We need leaders who break moulds, who redefine what’s possible, and who inspire others – irrespective of preconceived notions. So, seek out brilliance in unexpected places, welcome diversity of thought, and build teams that reflect the rich tapestry of human potential. In doing so, you’ll be paving the way for a future where innovation knows no boundaries, and where every mind, unrestricted by stereotypes, can contribute to shaping the world's skyline.

🚀🚀Who Should Lead Innovation in Construction?🚀🚀 Innovation in the construction industry is crucial but often fragmented. Should it be driven from the top down or bottom up? Main contractors or manufacturers? Personally, I believe the best outcomes are achieved when innovation is led from the top and cascades down. Main contractors should spearhead the vision, outlining their needs and aspirations. This then flows through architects and engineers, down to manufacturers who develop solutions that meet industry demands. Currently, innovation comes from all directions, but without cohesive communication, we end up with products nobody wants or needs. We need a unified approach to truly drive impactful change. Share your thoughts and in the comments belowl! ⬇️⬇️⬇️ #ConstructionInnovation #IndustryLeadership #TopDownApproach #BottomUpApproach #MainContractors #Manufacturers #Architects #Engineers #UnifiedInnovation #ConstructionChallenges #FutureOfConstruction #InnovativeSolutions #BuildingTheFuture #ConstructionVision #IndustryCollaboration

Excited to share our recently published paper, "Exploring Empowerment in Construction: Discovering Challenges of Self-Managed Workers." It was presented at the 12th Nordic Conference on Construction Economics and Organisation (CREON) in Trondheim, Norway this summer. https://lnkd.in/d264K4BB Our recent study examines how traditional production planning and control in construction can leave workers stressed and dissatisfied due to its lack of flexibility in dynamic situations. Through interviews with MEP workers, we found that while they often feel self-empowered and make autonomous decisions, this varies with the task and leadership structures, which are often implicit and unclear. This lack of clarity can lead to mixed outcomes. The study underscores the need for more explicit support and clearer leadership structures to enhance worker satisfaction, decision-making, and overall task performance.
