When you can’t take care of an elderly parent: What to do next Taking care of an elderly parent can be tough. If you’re feeling overwhelmed and realize that caregiving might not be the best option for you or your parent, it’s okay to seek help. Here’s how to approach the situation: -->Be kind to YOURSELF: Feeling stressed is a sign you might need a new plan. It’s important to recognize your limits and take care of yourself too. -->Talk to your siblings: Set up a meeting and send a list of topics to discuss. This gives everyone time to think about the situation before you talk. -->Explore options: Before the meeting, think about different care solutions. But also, be open to suggestions from your siblings. -->Try temporary solutions: Consider short-term help, like a part-time caregiver or a trial stay at an assisted living facility… to see what works best. That’s how you can find the best care for your loved ones while managing your OWN well-being. #healthcheckups #healthcareprograms #caringbeeshealthcare #hiringnurse
