This is sadly becoming our reality... a future where there is more plastic in rivers and oceans than aquatic life. A future where every waterway is overflowing with plastic, killing marine life and poisoning humans - if we don't take action now, this will be the world we leave behind. If we don’t change our dependency on plastic, the world could reach a tipping point in just 10 years, unable to cope with the scale of plastic waste according to experts (The Guardian).💡 What can you do? - Refuse single-use plastics and switch to reusable alternatives. - Rethink plastic by adopting sustainable practices in your daily life. - Support initiatives like Goumbook’s #DropIt Campaign to drive change and reduce plastic pollution. Together, we can rethink, refuse, and reduce plastic dependency to secure a cleaner, healthier future for all. 🌿 Plastic pollution is a growing threat to our environment, marine life, and even our health. Every year, millions of tons of plastic end up in our oceans, harming marine ecosystems and entering the food chain. By reducing our plastic consumption and opting for sustainable alternatives, we can make a significant impact: 1️⃣ Protecting Marine Life: Plastic waste poses a severe risk to marine animals like turtles, seabirds, and fish who often mistake plastic for food or become entangled in it. 2️⃣ Preserving our Oceans: Healthy oceans are vital for our planet's health. By reducing plastic waste, we can help keep our oceans clean and thriving. 3️⃣ Reducing Carbon Footprint: Plastic production and incineration contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. Cutting down on plastic means reducing our carbon footprint. 4️⃣ Promoting Sustainable Practices: Choosing reusable items over single-use plastics encourages sustainable living and supports eco-friendly businesses. Let's join hands to #ReducePlastic and create a cleaner, healthier world for generations to come. 🌱 Together, we can make a difference! 💪 #SustainableLiving #SaveOurOceans #PlasticFreeFuture Download the app here: https://raog.ca/app/

Every day, the equivalent of 2000 garbage trucks full of plastic are dumped into the world's oceans, rivers, and lakes. And every year, 19-23 million tonnes of plastic waste leaks into aquatic ecosystems, polluting our lakes, rivers, and seas.* This Plastic Free July, we take up the challenge to reduce plastic pollution globally by reducing single-use plastic waste in our workplaces, at home, and in our communities. Each of us can commit to taking 'small steps to make a big difference'. These changes could be anything from switching to reusable cups to avoiding plastic packaging to remembering reusable bags and bottles. Together, we can collectively reduce our plastic footprint and make a significant impact. Remember, every action counts towards creating a cleaner, healthier planet. What small steps will you take this Plastic Free July for a plastic-free future? Here's a sad reality: despite our recycling efforts, only 9% of global plastic waste actually gets recycled. That means a staggering 91% ends up in landfills, our oceans, or littering our environment. This plastic pollution not only harms wildlife but also breaks down into microplastics, entering our food chain thereby raising health concerns. But there's hope! At Eko Champs, we're on a mission to change this narrative. We're teaming up with businesses to create waves of change through impactful campaigns and events. We can all together boost right sorting, efficient collection, and responsible recycling. ♻️ Meanwhile, What can YOU do? 🤔 ➡ Reduce plastic consumption ➡ Choose reusable over single-use ➡ Support businesses with eco-friendly practices ➡ Spread awareness and educate others Let's turn the tide on plastic pollution, together. P.S. Share your thoughts! What can we do as individuals and businesses to tackle plastic waste? #plasticpollution #plasticwaste #sustainabiity #savetheplanet

📈 We have just reached 30 million kilograms of verified plastic waste recovery. More specifically, 30,328,127 kg - over 66 million lbs. This is all plastic that - without rePurpose Global and our brand partners - would have ended up in our oceans and natural environment. By recovering plastic rePurpose Global is protecting sensitive ecosystems and marginalized communities from plastic pollution, and providing fairer incomes and opportunities for workers. This 30 million kg milestone has been made possible by the combined efforts of over 500 purposeful brands, our incredible impact partners, and the hard work of our team at rePurpose Global. With your support we can hit the 40 million kg mark sooner. That means more pollution avoided, more waste workers supported, and more plastic brought back into use. Join us in the movement for a cleaner, greener future. 💚🍃🌏 #plasticwaste #sustainability #oceanhealth #circulareconomy

The beverage industry has long been one of the worst perpetrators of plastic pollution. Micro and nano plastics are infiltrating our bodies, with alarming consequences for our health. These tiny particles, which come from larger plastic debris breaking down, are found in the water we drink, the food we eat, and even the air we breathe. They pose serious risks, including hormone disruption, inflammation, and other chronic health issues. What we put in our body, what we put in our oceans, our landfills—all of this matters more than ever. It's time for a change. Our commitment to fighting plastic and building a more environmentally friendly world is stronger than ever: - Since September, we have partnered with rePurpose to take a stand against plastic pollution. Together, we've recovered 55,000 lbs. of plastic from the ocean—the equivalent of over 1,000,000 plastic bottles. - We're certified Plastic Neutral. - Our labels are made from 100% post-consumer waste paper, and as of 2023, are 100% plastic-free. - For every kg of plastic we use, we remove the same amount of plastic from the environment. But we need to do more. Greenhouse is committed to achieving these critical targets in the next 36 months: - Plastic Footprint: Reduce plastic usage from 2022 levels by over 40% by 2026. - Carbon Footprint: Achieve carbon neutrality by 2028. - 15% of primary packaging reused by 2028. - Increase large format v. single serve business mix from 1:20 to 1:5 by 2026. - Increase usage of Regenerative Organic raw ingredients by 50% by 2025. - Report on progress on these goals annually. Did you know that over 8 million tons of plastic waste ends up in our oceans every year? This not only harms marine life but also affects human health as microplastics enter our food chain. On this Earth Day, let's take a pledge to fight against plastic pollution. By using reusable bags, water bottles, and straws, we can significantly reduce the amount of plastic waste. It's estimated that by 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish by weight. We must act now to protect our planet and the life it sustains. So, let's embrace the 4Rs (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and get creative with upcycling projects to minimize our plastic footprint. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a cleaner and healthier planet for generations to come. #EarthDay #PlanetVsPlastic #EarthDay2024 #GoGreen #SaveThePlanet #ClimateAction #EcoFriendly #SustainableLiving #ActOnClimate Harinder Singh, MRICS, Harpreet Singh Hora, Ishwin Singh H., Deepak Sethi, Ankit Gupta, MRICS, Garvit Jain, Nandini Taneja, Prakriti K.
