One of the things that we at #vertiver are most passionate about is translating the complexity of social behavior and climate science into easy to learn tools that drive home the salient message of transformation and enable action at the last mile. Our new tool #SonePeSuhaga is yet another testament to the brilliant minds of #TeamVertiver, where scientists working alongside designers, artists, writers and behavioral researchers develop tools that have great resonance for community members because they are vernacular and context-appropriate in style and tone. We build timeless tools that we always hope have a life way beyond the life of our projects. We are extremely proud to have launched this new tool for use by The Nature Conservancy’s PRANAPROJECT project in Punjab. We are confident that this tool, like our previous ones, will play a catalytic role in building the capacity of women in understanding regenerative agriculture practices so that they can contribute to the transformation to improving Punjab soil, water and air resources! #climateaction #punjab #india #enablingsustainability #gamification #gamifiedlearning #women #gender #agriculture #climateresilience

𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲-𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱! Over the last century, the world population has grown from about 2 billion to over 8 billion. The United Nations reports that by 2050, the world population is expected to touch the 9.2 billion mark. Though it could be considered a normal development of the world, there is a silver lining between population and overpopulation. With a significant increase in population, there is an equivalent decrease in resources. #Didyouknow that we have consumed more resources in the last 50 years than any previous humanity combined? Here’s how overpopulation acts as a barrier to achieving ecological balance. ☑ Scarcity of resources. ☑ Increased resource usage causing excess GHG emissions ☑ Reduction in the amount of CO2 due to 10 million hectares of deforestation every year ☑ Water pollution and soil erosion ☑ Distress between different communities It’s never too late to make amends! We can still turn things around for our planet. ☑ 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻: Numerous studies have shown a substantial correlation between female education and declining birth rates. When women are educated and career-oriented, they make wiser decisions regarding their reproductive well-being. ☑ 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱: Easily accessible information on family planning facilitates people in planning their family effectively, which can further improve their overall health as well. ☑ 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Individual choices are important; therefore, a decline in our own consumption footprint can reduce population pressure on the planet’s resources. Now is the time to join hands and make contributory efforts towards saving the natural resources of our mother earth. #WorldPopulationDay #Sustainability #ClimateChange #ResourceManagement #EnvironmentalImpact #SustainableLiving #Overpopulation #GreenLiving #EcoFriendly #ClimateAction #Cognitud #TransformingResponsibly

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RURAL WOMEN - 15 October 2024 Celebrating the vital role of rural women in biodiversity conservation, food production, climate resilience, and healthcare. 🌿 Biodiversity Conservation: Custodians of natural resources and traditional knowledge, rural women play a key role in conserving and cultivating biodiversity. 🌾 Food Production: Responsible for growing and collecting food, rural women are major employers in agrifood systems. 🌍 Climate Change: On the frontlines of the climate crisis, rural women help mitigate its causes and adapt to its impacts. 👩⚕️ Healthcare: Making up a large portion of the healthcare workforce, rural women provide essential care, especially in remote areas. Despite their crucial contributions, rural women face gender equality challenges, including limited access to resources like land rights, credit, education, and technology. Empowering women in agriculture could increase farm yields by 20-30%, feeding millions more people. Let's work towards a future where rural women have equal opportunities and support. #RuralWomen #BiodiversityConservation #ClimateResilience #GenderEquality #Empowerment #InternationalDayOfRuralWomen #Unwomen #WIIEN
