What we can do is heal by tending to our inner child today. Showing care and understanding to our past selves helps us live more authentically and peacefully, building deeper self-love. Inner child healing allows us to address and release painful memories and emotions that might be holding us back. Ignoring or repressing these feelings can make our inner child feel rejected and abandoned. As adults, we have the power to nurture and care for our inner child with self-love, awareness and compassion. This healing process is essential, especially when dealing with intense emotions like anger, guilt or shame. By practicing self-love and compassion, we create a safe space for our inner child to feel accepted and supported. Incorporating inner child healing into our self-care routine can bring us closer to our authentic self and help us live a more fulfilled life. When you ask your child a simple question, like “How was school?” and they seem distant or unresponsive, it can be easy to feel hurt or frustrated. After all, as a parent, you do so much, and their silence might feel like rejection. It’s natural to have these emotions, but it’s important to pause, acknowledge your feelings, and remind yourself that their reaction isn’t about you. Often, when a child shuts down, it’s a sign that they’re dealing with something difficult. Instead of pushing for an answer or speculating on what the problem is, offer understanding and space. Let them know it’s okay if they aren’t ready to talk and that you’re there when they are. By giving them the room they need to process their emotions, you create a safe environment for them to open up when they feel ready.
