A uterine septum is an anomaly of the uterus that some foetuses develop in the womb. To put it simply, it is a thin sheet of tissue that divides the cavity either partly or completely - and can often be missed on routine scans! While it is usually asymptomatic, it can, unfortunately, increase the chances of miscarriage. In fact, it is generally diagnosed only after several miscarriages or during infertility examinations. If you are having difficulty conceiving, this might be something your specialist considers. Thankfully, if you have been diagnosed with a uterine septum, most of the time, it can be treated with surgery. Dr. Edwina Coghlan show cases how the pelvis contains vital organs, including the bladder, bowel, uterus, ovaries, and the muscles of the pelvic floor—all working together to support your body and maintain core stability. These muscles connect to the buttocks, hips, and spine, and the complex network of nerves in this region is crucial for transmitting signals to the brain. However, when discomfort arises, the brain can’t always pinpoint which organ is causing the issue. This is why diagnosing pelvic pain can be challenging. Dr. Edwina, with her advanced training in high-risk obstetrics, pelvic floor surgery, and minimally invasive techniques, specialises in managing conditions like pelvic pain, endometriosis, and menstrual disorders. If you're experiencing pelvic discomfort or pain, Dr. Edwina is here to offer compassionate, holistic care to support your health journey. #PelvicHealth #WomensHealth #ObstetricsAndGynaecology #PelvicPain #SurfcoastWomensHealth #WomensWellness #ReproductiveHealth #ExpertCare #HealthcareForWomen

What are the Options for Endometriosis Treatment - 🌟 If you are suffering with endometriosis, it's crucial to understand the available treatment options. Here's what you need to know: 1️⃣ Hormone Treatment: This approach targets ovulation, often through contraceptive methods like the pill or implants. While it may temporarily affect fertility, it doesn't hinder future chances of conception. 🔄💊 2️⃣ Laparoscopy: Also known as keyhole surgery, this procedure involves removing or destroying endometriosis tissue through small abdominal incisions. It can alleviate symptoms and sometimes enhance fertility, though recurrence is possible if not all affected areas are addressed. 🪚💡 3️⃣ Laparotomy: Reserved for severe cases, this surgery requires a larger abdominal incision to remove deeply affected areas of endometriosis. 🩸⚔️ Each option requires careful consideration and consultation with our fertility specialists. #HART #endometriosis #education #fertilityjourney #EndometriosisAwareness #FertilityStruggles #EmpoweredParenthood #FertilityHope #PersonalizedCare #ListenToYourBody #FertilityOptions #SupportingLovedOnes #FertilityJourney
