💡 What is an Isthmocele? Dr. Gobetz shares insights on isthmocele, also called a cesarean scar defect (CSD)—a common occurrence after cesarean sections. 🩺 What You Need to Know: 🔹 Up to 70% of women show this defect on ultrasound post-cesarean. 🔹 Most cases are asymptomatic and don't require surgery. 🔹 Symptoms may include: Spotting or abnormal uterine bleeding. Painful periods or discomfort during intercourse. Secondary infertility caused by toxic residual blood in the defect. 📢 When to Seek Help: If you're experiencing symptoms, consult an endoscopic reproductive medicine specialist, preferably SASREG-accredited. 🔍 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝗿. What are the Options for Endometriosis Treatment - 🌟 If you are suffering with endometriosis, it's crucial to understand the available treatment options. Here's what you need to know: 1️⃣ Hormone Treatment: This approach targets ovulation, often through contraceptive methods like the pill or implants. While it may temporarily affect fertility, it doesn't hinder future chances of conception. 🔄💊 2️⃣ Laparoscopy: Also known as keyhole surgery, this procedure involves removing or destroying endometriosis tissue through small abdominal incisions. It can alleviate symptoms and sometimes enhance fertility, though recurrence is possible if not all affected areas are addressed. 🪚💡 3️⃣ Laparotomy: Reserved for severe cases, this surgery requires a larger abdominal incision to remove deeply affected areas of endometriosis. 🩸⚔️ Each option requires careful consideration and consultation with our fertility specialists. #HART #endometriosis #education #fertilityjourney #EndometriosisAwareness #FertilityStruggles #EmpoweredParenthood #FertilityHope #PersonalizedCare #ListenToYourBody #FertilityOptions #SupportingLovedOnes #FertilityJourney

A uterine septum is an anomaly of the uterus that some foetuses develop in the womb. To put it simply, it is a thin sheet of tissue that divides the cavity either partly or completely - and can often be missed on routine scans! While it is usually asymptomatic, it can, unfortunately, increase the chances of miscarriage. In fact, it is generally diagnosed only after several miscarriages or during infertility examinations. If you are having difficulty conceiving, this might be something your specialist considers. Thankfully, if you have been diagnosed with a uterine septum, most of the time, it can be treated with surgery. Laparoscopic surgery may be recommended as a primary treatment or when other treatments, such as medications or hormonal therapies, have not provided adequate symptom relief or if it’s a progressive disease. Hydronephrosis: Understanding the Condition and Treatment Options. Hydronephrosis is a condition where the kidney becomes swollen due to a buildup of urine, often caused by blockages or narrowing of the urinary tract. Left untreated, it can lead to kidney damage. The good news is that it’s treatable with a range of options, depending on the severity. **Common Treatment Options:** 1. **Surgical Intervention**: For more severe cases, surgery may be required to remove blockages or repair structural issues in the urinary system. 2. **Ureteral Stenting**: A small tube is inserted to bypass the obstruction and allow urine to drain freely. 3. **Nephrostomy Tube**: This is used in urgent cases to drain urine directly from the kidney, helping to relieve pressure and prevent further damage. It’s important to recognize the **signs of hydronephrosis** early. These can include: - Severe flank or abdominal pain - Difficulty or pain while urinating - Blood in the urine - Frequent UTIs If you experience any of these symptoms, see a doctor promptly. #HydronephrosisAwareness #KidneyHealth #StayInformed #UrologyCare #HydronephrosisTreatment #HealthyKidneys #MedicalAwareness
