Can you believe it? Our social project, the exhibition “No age. Just number!”, has been nominated for the finals of the world’s biggest event and experimental marketing competition, Eventex! 🤗 🙏 Nominated and shortlisted by the jury in FOUR categories, it is in the running for the title of THE BEST IN THE WORLD, even in such prestigious and important categories as BEST CULTURAL EVENT and BEST SOCIAL EVENT that has made a difference. 💙 To give you an idea of the scale of this competition, how many countries are entering in the hope of taking their country’s name further, and how many mega-projects have been submitted, here are the numbers. This year, 1207 projects were submitted from 62 countries! The competition is cosmic. 🌏 We would like to thank the jury from the bottom of our hearts for this mega-appreciation and those involved, without whom this project would not be possible. And finally, thanks to the author of the idea and the driving force behind the project – our very own Inese Lukaševska - who proves every year, with every project, what excellence is and what it means not to betray values. The results will be available on May 7th. Fingers crossed.

AgTech Ecosystem - I have posted about the great experience that was the All In Summit at UCLA a couple of weeks ago. There was a lot of value that was hard to get if you were not at the event - catching up with old friends and making new ones happens best live. But there's a lot of the event that you can get value from, including all of the panels from the event being live on the YouTube channel below. Here are the panels - full recordings from each are live on demand in the channel: Elon Musk Peter Thiel JD Vance John Mearsheimer and Jeffrey Sachs Megyn Kelly Sergey Brin Travis Kalanick Marc Benioff Michael Ovitz Tekedra Mawakana Bari Weiss If you look at the views for these panels, the top two panels are Elon (955k views) and Mersheimer/Sachs (918k views). It will be interesting to watch the view numbers for each of the panels and the overall All-In Summit channel continue to grow. Bill Gurley's presentation on regulatory capture from last year's All In Summit has certainly stayed relevant and part of the conversation much of the last year. My guess is that some of these panels will achieve the same result over the next year. The All-In hosts suggested that they could get 50M views on YouTube and X from the recorded panels viewed on-demand. That would be impressive - not long ago J-Cal was bragging about the 50M annual views that the All-In pod was getting. Now the event panels could get that much traffic over the next few months. These are some of the brightest minds and biggest thinkers in tech, policy, and trends. It's awesome that it's all in one place and available on demand for everyone. And remember, if you're not already a subscriber, definitely subscribe to the pod and YouTube so you can get this kind of content weekly. #techinnovators #techpolicy #allinsummit https://lnkd.in/gNjxFKFP

The events industry is responsible for approximately 10-20% of global emissions according to various estimates 🤯 Large-scale events, particularly conferences, festivals, and sports events, contribute significantly due to transportation, energy use, and waste. We helped Spark Festival take action and reduce its impact this year thanks to the participation of their attendees, hosts, and venues 🌎🎉 Now, it’s your turn! Hosting an event? Day 2 of Crew Connect Global kicked off with Carl King in discussion with social media influencer and celebrity Ivan Guzman, and Therese Labilles, Head of Crewing at Pacific Basin Shipping Limited, about how to manage crew access to social media. Here are some highlights: · “Corporations don’t use social media strategically,” says Carl. · Ivan described how content creation on board has helped "uplift morale of crew on board." · Therese outlined the importance of seafarers respecting companies’ social media policies based on "mutual respect and loyalty." A wrap-up of the panel discussion will be available soon. In the meantime, here are some key reasons why social media is here to stay in the maritime industry: ⚓️ A communication tool for seafarers and families Social media provides a lifeline for seafarers to stay connected with their loved ones, no matter where they are in the world. Platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram make it easier to share updates, photos, and messages, offering emotional support and reducing the feeling of isolation during long voyages. ⚓️ Creating social learning and micro-learning opportunities Platforms like YouTube, LinkedIn, and Instagram offer accessible, bite-sized educational content that maritime professionals can use to upskill. From safety tutorials to leadership tips, these resources are perfect for fostering continuous learning and professional development, even during busy schedules. ⚓️ Making maritime open to younger generations Social media allows the shipping industry to showcase its exciting opportunities, cutting-edge technology, and adventurous lifestyle. By engaging with younger audiences through platforms like TikTok and Instagram, the industry can spark interest in maritime careers and address the ongoing talent gap. ⚓️ Bridging the gap between the general public and shipping Social media helps the maritime industry communicate its essential role in global trade to the broader public. By sharing stories, videos, and insights into daily operations, shipping companies can increase public understanding and appreciation of the industry, fostering goodwill and support. Does your company use social media to achieve these objectives? Let us know in the comments how!
