What we seek proximity to, ultimately, becomes familiar and definable, no longer unfamiliar or distant. Described by Bryan Stevenson, founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, in relation to criminal justice reform, proximity is a tool we all can harness to transform our understanding of ideas and most importantly, the people around us. In every dimension of our lives, the unfamiliar and distant are opportunities to seek proximity.
