In a recent exclusive interview with City21 TV, Karachi's leading news channel, Naveed Abbas Memon, Chief Domain Officer (CDO), shed light on how PSW is revolutionizing Pakistan's trade landscape. Speaking on "City@10," Mr. Memon discussed the pivotal role PSW has played in transforming trade processes since its establishment, aligning with the 2017 Trade Facilitation Agreement.   With 15 OGAs integrated and over 86,000 subscribers, PSW has streamlined trade processes by enabling electronic payments and digital certification, significantly reducing costs by 20% and processing time by two-thirds. The platform features an Integrated Risk Management System (IRMS) to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.   To further expand its reach and ensure businesses are fully equipped to utilize the system, PSW has a robust #ChangeManagement initiative. This program focuses on raising awareness and building capacity through sessions and workshops held nationwide in collaboration with Chambers, Trade Associations, and Educational Institutions. Through these sessions, participants have been trained in understanding and leveraging PSW’s features, such as digital payments, automated processes, and online certification applications. These efforts aim to educate the trade community on how PSW simplifies operations, reduces costs, and improves overall efficiency.   Mr. Memon also highlighted PSW’s broader initiatives, including PortVerse – Port Community System of Pakistan (PCS), designed to streamline port operations and facilitate seamless collaboration among port institutions. Here are the key points discussed to support BGBA members: 1. Streamlined DOT Certification: BGBA will follow up on all DOT certifications on behalf of members who opt for our services. This centralized approach will ensure better service from DOT to every buying office. 2. Flexible Office Address Requirements: Members are no longer required to have their office at the registered address. Any operational office with adequate manpower will be accepted. This will prevent unnecessary demands from DOT inspectors. 3. Protection Against Financial Demands: If any inspector makes financial demands, BGBA's involvement will ensure one-stop services, protecting members from such issues. 4. Seminar Arrangement: At our request, DOT will organize a seminar with the Minister, Secretary, BGBA, and other textile experts to discuss BGBA's contributions to foreign currency earnings and employment. 5.
