One of the three pillars that deliver security & prosperity through the maritime ecosystem- 'education', small business and industry.
The Australian Maritime College (Jess Rice Dr Samrat Ghosh) has been visiting high schools all over Tasmania (supported by the Beacon Foundation) to promote their vocational pathways in Coastal Seafaring and higher education pathways in Ocean Seafaring, Maritime Logistics and Business Management, and Maritime Engineering. The portable simulator and the the life jacket challenge was used to engage school students from Burnie, Penguin, Smithton, and Wynyard. More schools (Rosebery, Queenstown, St. Helens, St. Marys, Devonport, and Hobart) on the cards. A big thank you to Allie, Ebony, and Tracy (from Beacon Foundation) for their help.

Definitely a legend! I remember, half our math class left because he used to make people uncomfortable by asking them questions they could not answer. After the first test, they returned to his class...lol He just didn't teach math but also how to live the life of a problem solver. I learnt 2 important lessons in his first math class. The black bag. Learning is like putting new tools in an infinitely large black bag. When faced with a problem, pick the tool you think works. If the tool doesn't work, pick another and another until you find the one the that makes you say "Damn it, it works!". Keep learning to have as many tools in your black bag. Difficult problems are difficult for most people. Don't be afraid of taking on a challenging problem because you're afraid of looking dum. Even when you fail at solving a challenging problem, others learn something. At least what doesn't work. Failure drives people forward. The only hack is to fail as early as possible when the cost of failure is the lowest and the learning opportunity is the hightest.
