Think about the quality, time and cost triangle again! Alastair Cupples and Glenn RUTHERFORD machined the parts with and without Productive Machines’ SenseNC Finesse at AMIC in Belfast. Did they need to sacrifice from cost and time to achieve a higher quality? The answer is No! The optimised part is higher quality and was produced faster with no chatter vibration problems compared to the reference part. I am currently taking these parts to Farnborough International Air Show starting tomorrow. They will be in our stand at the Aerospace Xelerated Innovation Zone. Hall3, Stand 3100. ⁉ Where is the battery industry headed? 🔋 I spent today at the Battery Show Europe 2024 in Stuttgart and left puzzled. Let's face it: The past couple of weeks have been bad for the (automotive) battery industry. ⚡ Weak demand. ⚡ Plans for gigafactories shelved. ⚡ Uncertainty what happens with regulations at European level. At the same time, I have rarely seen such a vibrant atmosphere at a trade fair. The optimism was palpable. Why? 🚀 Because automation and digitalization accelerate at a staggering pace in the battery industry. ♻ Let's take the example of automating recycling. Every battery pack is different. There has been little standardization in the past. That's why it's so complex to recycle the battery packs that will reach the end of their life cycle. 🤖 Siemens shows an AI-powered solution to automate that process. It couldn’t be done. Until it was done. 🛣 We’re at a crossroad. Let’s hope that this can-do-mentality will inspire policy-makers and all stakeholders.
