I’m all for stress testing these blades in the real world. However, a more engineering-based approach uses our high definition fiber optic strain sensors (https://lnkd.in/g_Wke-jm). Our ODISI sensor provides the finest resolution and thousands of sensing points both in and on the composite blade. We use this sub-mm distributed sensing tool to perform fatigue testing and predict failure. The aim of this technology is to assess the longevity of these turbines so you don’t have to line up a bunch of people to jump on the blade. #DSS #DFOS LUNA Innovations
