2024 Prime Big Deal Days are a wrap!   It was another event full of client wins, testing, learning, communication, collaboration, and patience.   We had over 100 Acadia retail experts working around the clock and around the globe to make sure this #PrimeBigDealDay was the best our clients could have. It was not without its challenges with three weeks notice, new discount submission fees, increased CPCs and of course, ramped up competition across categories.   Our team poured over the data as soon as PBDD closed to find the most important trends and results and drafted a comprehensive recap of Prime Big Deal Day 2024.   Highlights in this recap include: 🔹 A newer promo type reigns supreme 🔹 Emergence of upper funnel for day-of tentpole event strategy 🔹 A few platform quirks that kept our team and clients on their toes   On a personal note, I cannot say enough about the team I get to work with each and every day. Prime Big Deal Day is the start to the busiest time of year and the amount of work that goes into preparing for and executing spans months. The level of commitment, collaboration, grit, good humor and excellence, I saw from our team at Acadia was inspiring and I count myself as an incredibly lucky person for being able to work with this group of people.    You can read our full Prime Big Deal Day 2024 recap by following the link in the comments. With the live events now over, we were back on deck with our regular webinar just before the Easter break. Firstly, Michael Shirley from Veris (ASX: VRS) joined us. Michael talked through how they are turning around the business and moving it back into profitability. Over the last two years, Michael and the new team have focused on enhancing and expanding the product offering. Veris has also focused on getting the core surveying and planning business operating effectively and efficiently, following numerous acquisitions in the space over the last few years to build a national footprint. Getting a refresher on the business was good; plenty has changed under the hood. Secondly, we were delighted to welcome back Dennison Hambling from Intelligent Monitoring Group Limited (ASX: IMB). Dennison walked us through the first half post the ADT Security acquisition which has materially changed the revenue and EBITDA of the business and given IMB significant scale. Dennison also highlights that they will actively focus on growing the business by targeting previous ADT clients to win them back or upgrade their existing services. New business will also be a priority across residential, SME, and, in particular, aged care and healthcare over the next 12-24 months as these market sectors remain underrepresented in Australia regarding professional security solutions versus international markets. "New rule @ Cheers: End every retailer meeting with... 1) How did we do? 2) What we could have made it better? 3) How do we improve next time?" And to follow up that rule. Here's another rule: "Aim to end every meeting 5 mins early." I can't take credit for these ideas. I got them from Dan Mack's Elevation Forum a few weeks ago during the NACDS Annual Meeting. But I did write them down and we are implementing them. Why? Because meetings between retailers & suppliers are a product, which means the can and should improve over time. By having a supplier actually ask their retailer partner how the meeting could improve next time they are getting the partner's involvement in the end product—productive meetings. Now it's not just the supplier guessing at what the retail partner would want to hear in the meeting, or the supplier pushing their agenda, but instead the meeting becomes a collaborative work product between supplier/retailer that is improved each time the two teams meet. Want to have great partnerships? Start with being a great partner, and that involves asking your partner how to do that!
