There's no reason why Republicans, Democrats, businesses, environmentalists - and anybody who cares about creating jobs, driving economic growth, making America more competitive against China and other countries - should not want this boom to continue. Now it's up to the Rs who will soon lead in Washington to make sure it does, for their constituents back home. Thanks Austyn Gaffney and The New York Times for covering this important story (and for including E2 and me).
Clear eyes here, Bob. In theory you're right, but the GOP (Gas & Oil Party) has been openly obstructing EVERYTHING clean energy for YEARS. Capturing legislators, disinformation, whatever it takes. And now we have President 'drill baby drill' to contend with. Our job now is to steel ourselves for a fight ...
Absolutely agree, Bob! This absolutely must be a shared vision that transcends political and sectoral boundaries--it's a no brainer. Kudos to you, E2, and the NYT for shining a light on something my dad would have poked fun at by telling me, "son, your grasp of the obvious is amazing..." Now, will the new Rs in W-ton be able to grasp the obvious?
Couldn’t agree more- so important to continue to promote US energy solutions
And clean energy is way more important than political and competitive rivalry and can only be created globally if the countries are working together…

2wGreat work Bob Keefe and E2. This thought-leading workshop at the EV Charging Summit & Expo in Las Vegas from March 25-27, 2025, will touch on this subject. Nationally known political consultant and The American EV Jobs Alliance CEO Michael E. Murphy will present new national polling data conducted after the 2024 Presidential election that explains why EVs have become a political football and what can be done to overcome it. Topics include the public perceptions of EV vs ICE brands, the fascinating consumer re-evaluation of Elon Musk, and a summary of which pro-EV messages work — and don’t work — to break down the political divide slowing EV adoption in America.
