We want to trade with sustainable suppliers. Our progress so far: o 95% of our supply chain is compliant with our code of conduct. o 83% of our supply chain spend has completed an Ecovadis assessment. o On average, our suppliers scored 14% higher on Ecovadis when compared to all Ecovadis assessed companies. o 73% of our business emissions come from our supply chain. Why it matters: We want to maintain the highest ethical procurement standards, which are aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and support our 2045 net-zero ambition. #Sustainability #EverybodysBusiness #SupplyChain #EthicalProcurement

Fostering a #responsiblesupplychain is one of the key commitments laid down in #Roadto100 and – since the plan launch – we have performed significant initiatives to bring the objective to align 100% of our strategic suppliers with our ESG journey by 2030 closer every day. Today we take pride in sharing that, working with our valued partner EcoVadis, we successfully released: ✅ Ariston Group Code of Conduct for Suppliers: a step forward from our Code of Ethics, encompassing Environmental, Social and Governance areas, and adhering to state of the art global standards and guidelines. ✅ Ariston Group Sustainable Procurement Policy: defining a vision for Sustainable Procurement, outlining both the minimum requirements and the preferred practices that are relevant to all stakeholders in the supply chain, and identifying a clear supplier engagement procedure. With the increase in outsourcing in the 21st century, value chains have become more global, interconnected, and complex, often spanning multiple countries to produce just one product. Monitoring and assessing supply chains has therefore become both more challenging and more important as companies work to improve their environmental, social, and governance (#ESG) initiatives. EcoVadis, an online platform where companies can see where their suppliers stand on a variety of environmental, social, and ethical issues, is working to turn this challenge into an opportunity: https://lnkd.in/gKixJX83 #supplychains #sustainability

🌍 Tackling Greenwashing in Procurement Sustainability 🌍 In today's world, sustainability is no longer just a buzzword – it's a necessity. As organizations adopt green procurement policies, it’s essential to ensure these efforts are genuine and not just a form of greenwashing. ⚠️ What is Greenwashing? Greenwashing occurs when companies or vendors overstate or falsely claim their products or practices are environmentally friendly to gain a competitive edge. This can mislead stakeholders, damage trust, and hinder real progress toward sustainability. In procurement, greenwashing can occur in several ways: 🌱 Vendors making exaggerated claims about their products' eco-friendliness. 🏢 Suppliers focusing on minimal green practices while ignoring significant sustainability issues. 📄 Contracts lacking clear KPIs to verify sustainability claims. ✅ How to Avoid Greenwashing: 1. Due Diligence: Conduct thorough supplier assessments to verify sustainability claims. 2. Clear Metrics: Set transparent and measurable sustainability criteria in contracts. 3. Education: Train procurement teams to identify greenwashing tactics. Certification: Rely on verified sustainability certifications and standards for products and suppliers. 4. Ongoing Monitoring: Continuously monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to green practices. Let's push for true sustainability and avoid the traps of greenwashing. After all, genuine efforts towards a greener planet should not just be about appearances but about real, measurable impact. 🌍🌱 #Procurement #Sustainability #Greenwashing #GreenProcurement #SustainableBusiness #SupplyChain #ProcurementExcellence

The EU Green Claims Directive aims to ensure that environmental claims made by businesses to consumers are verified and reliable. This change will bring more transparency and help build consumer trust in sustainable products in the EU market. The Digital Product Passport (DPP) can be a fundamental tool in the implementation of this Directive. Verified sustainability claims can be integrated into the DPP, providing consumers with access to clear, accurate information and enabling them to make informed purchasing decisions. As negotiations on the file progress, we call on policymakers to allow economic operators to substantiate green claims via the DPP. This would allow consumers to access product information directly at the point of sale, for instance via a QR code, further incentivizing conscious purchasing choices.
