Walter Lippmann (September 23, 1889 – December 14, 1974) was an American writer, reporter, and political commentator. With a career spanning 60 years, he is famous for being among the first to introduce the concept of the Cold War, coining the term "stereotype" in the modern psychological meaning, as well as critiquing media and democracy in his newspaper column and several books, most notably his 1922 Public Opinion. #EaziAccess #EaziLeads

Author Ta-Nehisi Coates keeps holding up an important mirror to journalists. He reflects on Democracy Now! on his interview at CBS Mornings last week where he was confronted with tough questions. (More about that in this week's newsletter, link below). The questions he raises are interesting for all journalists to reflect on: "I don't have a problem with a tough interview, I know what I wrote. The question I would ask though: how often on CBS, NBC, ABC, or any major news organization do you see someone who is a defender of the Israeli State project get confronted in that kind of way? There is no problem with confronting me. I would like to see some other people confronted too. What I'm trying to get at in the book The Message is that it's the questions we ask, the stories we get to tell and don't tell, and most importantly, who gets to tell them and who doesn't. I feel this passionately. This is not about me, it's about the people who are invisible." Sign up for the newsletter: https://lnkd.in/gqbEyiC
