I’ve seen a positive shift in recent years. Companies are starting to recognize the importance of mental health, especially for female employees, and it’s about time. When organizations prioritize mental health resources, it’s not just a benefit—it’s a game-changer. For many women, balancing career aspirations with personal responsibilities can feel overwhelming. We wear multiple hats and often face unique stressors that can impact our wellbeing. Mental health support can change that. Having access to therapy, counseling, mental health days, or even flexible working hours isn’t just about checking a box— it’s about valuing your people. When companies create an environment where women feel supported, their confidence grows, and so does their career potential. The Impact on Career Advancement It’s simple. When women have the mental health resources they need, they show up stronger, more resilient, and ready to take on leadership roles. I’ve seen it firsthand in my coaching practice—women who once felt stuck because of burnout or imposter syndrome are now thriving. Why? Because they had the mental health support to help them navigate challenges and rediscover their strengths. When companies truly invest in mental health, they’re investing in the growth and advancement of their people. Women don’t just stay—they excel. How Can Companies Do Better? Provide accessible resources: It’s not just about offering support, but making it easy for employees to access. Normalize mental health conversations: Creating a culture where discussing mental wellbeing is as normal as discussing productivity can break down barriers. Encourage leaders to set the tone: When leaders model healthy boundaries and prioritize their mental health, it empowers others to do the same. It's a conversation worth having and a cause worth championing. Together, we can create workplaces where women aren’t just surviving—they’re thriving.

Did you know that work stress related absenteeism costs Dutch companies €3.3 billion yearly? And who is most affected by it? Gen Z - with nearly half of the generation experiencing constant stress and spiking burnout rates at work. All while making up around 30% of the workforce until 2025. A reality that can no longer be ignored. As TEDxAmsterdamWomen speakers, Jasemen Nassab and I bonded over this challenge after we first met preparing our big talk. We agreed that just supporting individuals is not enough for long term change. We must bring generations together to evolve systems in order to elevate well-being at the workplace. That’s why we’ve partnered to create an exciting new workshop - equipping leaders and young talents alike with skills to cultivate understanding. For both individual well-being and systems change. The bigger problem reveals a deeper truth - friction between generations creates tension that can block progress. Through interactive sessions, we focus on intergenerational collaboration, knowledge sharing, and lifting up diverse voices. This builds the trust and tools needed to tackle burnout at its roots. On this IWD, we want to celebrate women coming together across generations to drive change. When we unite our strengths, we can reinvent systems that work for all. Want to lead the way? Let's chat! #GenZ #connectinggenerations #wellbeingattheworkplace #tedxamsterdamwomen

International Women’s Day Breakfast in Blackwater! A special thanks to our guest speaker, Dr. Kellie Rose, who delivered an insightful presentation on workplace burnout. Burnout is a significant concern for many women, often stemming from the demands of balancing career, family, and personal responsibilities. Signs of burnout may manifest differently in women compared to men and can include persistent fatigue, irritability, diminished motivation, and a decline in overall well-being. It's essential for women to prioritize self-care and seek support when experiencing these symptoms to prevent further escalation of burnout. Kylie Brown Bernie O'Neill #womeninmining #iwd2024

In the world of business, growth is not just about numbers and profit margins; it's also about the well-being of the people who drive your organization forward. Employee mental health has emerged as a pivotal factor, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Let's delve into some eye-opening statistics that underscore the vital role of mental health support in business growth. 🌟 The Pandemic Wake-Up Call: The pandemic shook the business world to its core, highlighting the need for robust mental health support within organizations. A survey by Mind Share Partners revealed that a staggering 60% of small and mid-sized business leaders acknowledge that their employees' mental health deteriorated due to the pandemic's impact. 💼 The Productivity Connection: Employee mental health isn't just about compassion; it directly affects your bottom line. When employees are mentally well, they tend to be more focused, engaged, and productive. In contrast, ignoring mental health can lead to burnout, decreased performance, and increased absenteeism. 🌐 The Talent Magnet: Top talent is drawn to organizations that prioritize employee well-being. A company that invests in mental health initiatives sends a powerful message: "We care about our employees." This reputation can attract and retain top-notch professionals, propelling your business toward growth and success. 🧠 Fostering Innovation: A mentally healthy workforce is more likely to be innovative. When employees feel safe, supported, and valued, they're better equipped to think creatively and contribute fresh ideas, essential components of business growth. 🏆 A Culture of Excellence: Cultivating a culture of well-being and mental health support sets the stage for excellence. It demonstrates that your company is committed to nurturing not just professional growth but also personal development, fostering a positive work environment that employees want to be a part of. Remember, businesses don't grow just by expanding their product lines or entering new markets; they grow by investing in the health and happiness of their most valuable asset—their people. Embracing and championing mental health in your organization can be a catalyst for remarkable business growth. 🚀✨ #HRStrategies #BusinessGrowth #EmployeeMentalHealth #WellBeingAtWork
