Utilizing Aerostats in Modern Warfare. In today's dynamic combat environments, aerostats like the Skystar™ systems offer significant advantages in situational awareness, surveillance, and communication. Here’s how these high-altitude platforms enhance operational effectiveness: Persistent ISR: Skystar™ systems provide cost-effective elevated observation for extensive border coverage, delivering real-time intelligence on enemy movements and acting as early warning mechanisms. Critical infrastructure and Force Protection: By offering a unique vantage point, aerostats help Brigade Combat Teams (BCTs) identify potential threats before they reach the combat zone, improving decision-making and troop safety. Target Acquisition & BDA: Continuous aerial surveillance is vital in urban warfare. Skystar™ systems ensure precise target acquisition and effective battle damage assessment. Logistic Route Defense: Comprehensive aerial monitoring safeguards crucial supply routes, ensuring secure logistics and operational support. Communication Enhancements: Beyond observation, Skystar™ systems also: Elevate tactical radios for extended range. Deploy cellular antennas for coverage in remote areas. Rapidly implement cyber defense measures from high altitudes. #Aerospace #Defense #Surveillance #BorderProtection #MilitaryTech #Innovation #Skystar #TargetAcquisition #CyberDefense #RealtimeIntelligance #SkyStar #ISR

The DESEAVER MK 4 is Elbit Systems' fourth generation of rotatable stabilized decoy launcher system maximizing the effect of the soft kill anti-missile defense capabilities provided by Aqua Marine - Integrated Electronic Warfare Suite (IEWS). The IEWS integrates Radar Electronic Support Measure (RESM), Radar Electronic Counter Measure (RECM), Communication Electronic Support Measure (CESM), Communication Electronic Counter Measure (CECM) and Immune Satellite Navigation System (iSNS). Fully integrated with ship combat systems, the DESEAVER MK 4 system provides perimeter protection against concurrent multiple missile threats from multiple directions. The system employs various types of decoys including chaff, corner reflectors and active Radio Frequency (RF) decoys. The ability to quickly maneuver stabilized rocket launchers enables the DESEAVER to respond simultaneously to multiple threats from numerous directions by delivering various payloads at accurate time intervals, according to specified anti-missile doctrines and guidelines. ARDRONIS, the Rohde & Schwarz #counterUAS solution, is the best choice for direction finding and countering small uncrewed aerial systems in military scenarios. Whether for #surveillance and #reconnaissance or as direct kinetic threat, #sUAS play an increasingly important role. The ability to manage these threats can be decisive on #missionsuccess, since UASs can operate in close combat situations or at great heights. F22 and F35 are not really the same thing, and the fact that they are “low observable” is not exactly true. They were created different that th F-117 for instance This is all about knowing what the “kill chain” really means (no, it is not the F2T2E2A targeting process) and once this is understood is all about determining by concept development and operational analysis, where do we want to “cut off” this kill chain. Maybe in detection, maybe in engagement or in any other place. It is difficult to do it in more that one point of the kill chain. (The true kill chain). If the decision is to cut the kill chain at detection been very low observable then, for sure there will be some drawbacks. As this will happens if the design is performed with a different design driver imbalance The most important thing is to have a true operational and operative knowledge to perform really informed trade-offs to determine what is the best alternative from the operational perspective. The US did it knowing what where the main operational drivers for each of their assets. Either Precision strike for the F-117, air superiority (supremacy indeed) for the F-22 and C5ISTAR + strike for the F-35. Forgetting the operational perspective is a ticket to failure.

Timing and distance matter most in the electromagnetic warfare space! “….there’s a difference between “detection” and obtaining a “weapons lock.” “By the time an S-400 can get a lock on F-22/F-35, these planes have already fired ordnance to destroy the S-400 radar.”
US Navy Operations Specialist explains why although the S-400 SAM System radar can detect the F-22 and F-35 it can’t achieve “weapons lock” on them

AIM-174Bs, AIM-120Ds, and AIM-9Xs were sided by an FPU-13 pod/tank, equipped with a Lockheed Martin ASG-34A(V)1 IRST21 Block-2 IR search and tracking system, and an RTX ASQ-228 ATFLIR (Advanced Targeting Forward-Looking Infrared) targeting pod. US Navy's SUPER HORNETs will be able to engage targets at much greater ranges than is currently possible with the AIM-120 AMRAAM, significantly improving the protection of aircraft carriers against both cruise and ballistic missile threats. https://lnkd.in/dUBMGgce
