What do all my #fabricator #friends do to reduce/offset your #carbonfotprint and #waste that result in the inevitabilities of #manufacturing #wood and #solidsurface ? I'm not talking about online catalogues of old product/tock, but I wondered what you guys do in-house to reduce waste and the footprint your company generates? I'll start as I would love to hear all of your ideas/practices. I know all of our #heating for both #manufacturing #factories (over 40,000 square feet in two sistering units) on both ground floors and the mezzanines is generated from using the #wood waste that is left over from all of our #furniture production. We refill the hopper using several full IBCs (which are already recycled as taken from companies that had planned to send them to #landfill / #scrapyard ) every day, and have streamlined our fabrication so it is more in line with a #lean journey from #boardtobox We also make all of our #products to order, so there is no stock-warehouse that needs to be lit and heated as such; we just store the essentials and make the rest as needed.
