This fall the Ontario Court of Appeal sided with the seven young people Ecojustice has backed in a historic climate lawsuit against the Ontario government. The Court’s ruling confirmed that Ontario’s weak climate target risks the lives and well-being of Ontarians. The ruling is not yet the end of the road for this lawsuit. The Ontario government has filed an application for leave to appeal the Mathur et. al case to the Supreme Court of Canada, setting the stage for a monumental hearing at Canada’s highest court. The seven young people at the heart of our landmark climate case have a message for the Ontario government: they are ready to keep fighting! Dive into this inspiring case ⬇️ https://hubs.ly/Q02_XgjQ0

Rally with Torres Strait Islanders in this groundbreaking federal court case. Uncle Paul Kabai and Uncle Pabai Pabai are taking legal action against the Australian Federal Government, alleging negligence in protecting their ancestral lands from climate change impacts. The threat of rising seas looms over their island home, posing a grave risk to their land and culture. This landmark case, the first in Australia of its kind, mirrors international efforts for climate justice, such as Europe’s recent human rights court ruling. Suppose you want to make an environmental and social impact that is real and visibly impactful by way of a corporate donation. In that case, consider joining us in making a donation to ClientEarth. We, at Triple Bottom Line Accounting TBLA Ltd, are proud to have contributed at the end of 2023, adding to the collective effort that led to this successful win against our current government. For the second time, the court has told the government that its climate strategy is not fit for purpose. "This time the court made it emphatically clear: the government cannot just cross its fingers and hope for high-risk technologies and uncertain policies to plug the huge gaps in its plans. “No more pie in the sky – this judgment means the government must now take real, credible action to address the climate crisis with a plan that can actually be trusted to deliver and with numbers that can be relied on. “As its own expert advisors have repeatedly said, the government has a golden opportunity to reduce emissions with actions that will also create jobs, improve services and bring down household bills. “Actions such as public transport investment and a home insulation roll-out will create new jobs, lower costs and provide energy security now and for generations to come – as well as putting us on track to meet our legal targets.” Sam Hunter Jones, ClientEarth lawyer #climatechange #environmentalimpact #socialimpact

To all the climate activists, “climate change deniers” is a misnomer that should be pronounced truth seekers/realists. We all love the planet and want to see it a more sustainable place, no arguement there. If the words sound good but the numbers don’t add up and you still trust it then you are simply unwise. The global EV push is actually worse for the environment and especially the economy. The people claiming the sky is falling seem to have no issue using their private planes 3+ times a week. Flying around the world telling us why we are so bad for the environment…Besides WHO in the world can trust what “they” say after knowing there was a global leaders meeting in Oct2019 preparing and training governments for a global pandemic?! And Maui a few months before Lahaina burned down they had a meeting about preparing for a terrible wildfire, why didnt they utilize their most robust emergency sirens to evacuate citizens? Instead evacuating tourists…govt is happy to scoop up land that is no longer owned by any living person huh. It’s so sick and I hope it’s not true but everything lines up that way…then look at the MO in Chile fires earlier this year, identical playbook. This is all to the globalists plan in the guise of climate change, more people under control equals more money and power at the top. And oh yeah it hurts the environment so no freedom of movement anymore (aka imprisonment). #wethepeople are far greater than them and God is far greater than everything…only reason I am not scared (but still fed up and preparing) is that these people do not have faith only fear. They cannot win but the battle is far from over unfortunately.

The High Court ruled that the UK government’s #ClimateStrategy is inadequate and lacks transparency, forcing it to redraw its Net Zero plan and prove that it will effectively reduce emissions to meet its pledges. 🔎 What is the lesson for businesses?🔎 The challenges faced by the #UK government mirror those we often see in the corporate world. Companies, like governments, cannot just set targets, and then lay back and hope new technologies and uncertain plans will get them there. A clear, transparent, and reliable Net Zero strategy that reduces emissions, increases efficiency and opens the door to new opportunities is a true source of differentiation. Are you still wondering how you’ll reach your #NetZero goals? Let’s chat!

Join the campaign for the Climate and Nature Bill (CAN) It's a plan for a new UK law that addresses the full extent of the climate and nature crisis in line with the most up-to-date science. 27 London MPs (out of 73) have pledged their support already, but there is no guarantee they will attend the vote. The more pressure they get from their constituents, the more likely they are to do so. If your MP has already pledged support, we want them to commit to attending the vote. If they haven't yet pledged support, they should do so. https://lnkd.in/eUQBZmQw
