We recently had the pleasure of taking some young people on a trip to The Free Company, a farm, seasonal restaurant, and place of learning that practices regenerative agriculture. 🥬 This trip proved to be more than a fun day out; it was a hands-on lesson in environmental responsibility, hard work, and community. A huge thank you to The Free Company for giving us such an enriching experience. #regenerativeagriculture #edinburgh #sustainablefood

I think Gabe Brown really nailed it. It took some time, but he eventually got it right. Regenerative farming is gaining momentum—and for good reason. Beyond the obvious benefits to human and animal health, let’s take a moment to consider its powerful environmental impacts: carbon sequestration, resilience to climate change, water retention, long-term sustainability, reduced input costs, increased biodiversity, and the reduction of chemical runoff, just to name a few. My challenge to you: do your own research and come to your own conclusions. As for me, regenerative farming just makes too much sense not to work. We all owe farmers a debt of gratitude not only for putting food on our tables but for looking after our natural resources – including protecting and restoring #soilhealth. The Walmart Foundation proud to have funded Environmental Initiative to build ReachFarmersFaster.com, an initiative designed by Farm Journal in collaboration with the Midwest Row Crop Collaborative. This initiative helps conservation professionals reach more farmers more quickly with the latest advice in sustainable agriculture practices – through data, an interactive guide, and other resources to optimize and scale farmer engagement. Research shows that a farmer-centered approach, focusing on understanding individual perspectives and goals, can engage farmers at more than twice the rate of traditional methods. This initiative aligns with Walmart and the Walmart Foundation's broader commitment to protecting, restoring or sustainably managing 50 million acres of land by 2030. Lean more: shorturl.at/eilBX
