This People's Plan for Nature, built by the People's Assembly (including hundreds of thousands of inputs on nature from people all around the country) stands as a powerful set of resources for Governments and policymakers current and future. Take note! The detailed recommendations give massive clues as to how best to design policy. They show what really matters to the public when it comes to making hard choices about biodiversity, food production, and land use. If you'd like to know how the process worked and meet some of the people involved, I recommend this podcast!
It’s just over a year since WWF-UK, RSPB and National Trust published the #PeoplesPlanForNature. In a recent podcast, Carbon Copy speaks to WWF's Kat Machin about how our People's Assembly for Nature helped to form the plan. Last year we brought together 103 people from all walks of life from across the UK to form the People's Assembly for Nature. Over 4 weekends the assembly deliberated and made recommendations for local and national governments, businesses, charities and communities to help nature in the UK to thrive. The podcast takes you inside the process, and introduces five assembly members who reflect on how participating in the process has impacted their lives.
