A national example of fostering learner agency and learning from those that education impacts the most - the student. Schools and systems tapping into learners’ perspectives, insights and analysis and solutions to drive school improvement? That’s what the Learner Commissioner work is all about. I love seeing the work being done and lead by schools in NT (and now elsewhere) that authentically brings in learners as tangible and valued partners. Read more below in Summer Howarth’s post and the E4L capture of some examples. #learneragency #leadership

Last month we hosted Weekend @ Workshop, a celebration of student leadership and learning. It was a remarkable day of student-led activities and sessions that gave our guests a real sense of what it's like to be a Workshop School student. All of this got me thinking about what's most important about student voice, which I shared in this recent NGLC post: https://lnkd.in/en_vugR4

"Higher education leaders must prioritize understanding and addressing immigration issues to effectively support all students. By learning from the experiences of undocumented students, advocating for supportive policies, and actively engaging in political processes, leaders can create inclusive and equitable educational environments. This approach moves beyond merely interpreting anti-immigrant policies to actively participating in policy change at local, state, and federal levels to ensure full participation for all undocumented students in the United States." I wrote a short piece for NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education's Leadership Exchange Magazine. Let me know what you think! https://lnkd.in/ektrqKCh
