The NEET debacle NEET...The buzz word making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The lesson from the debacle of the NTA , the premiere testing agency in the nation, has several lessons for parents and aspirants: Aspirants: Your #selfworth must be more than any #test score be it #NEET or any other exam. Your life is precious. Do not let one examination and/or its result define you. Parents: Please know that there are immense opportunities available in this world. Success or Failure in one exam is not a certificate of your child's capability/ incapability. it is important to teach your children to excel but also to know that failure is a part of success and failure is not final. Teachers - build your students to accept the good and the bad. Keep talking to your students, motivate them but also let them know that marks/ scores do matter but not more than their own lives. Teach them to raise difficult questions. You raise difficult questions even if it doesn't affect you directly. Citizens - Please raise the difficult questions and create accountability. Public officials/ agencies and companies/ service providers are accountable to you. Don't sit back and think it's not your headache. the state of things in general is because of this attitude. This row over NEET was necessary. Does sir think he can cancel the internet? The internet gives everyone a voice and a choice. If you can't respond to people, where is your leadership? Who are you really leading? It is an utter shame when we get to know such things happening in such a prestigious exam. The clarifications are too blunt to accept it as a 'clarification'. My friends who appeared for this exam, they are just devastated. Firstly, the exam has become highly impractical for any new students who would like to become a doctor. The mental pressure that a student holds while preparing for his/her exam is immeasurable. Think of a girl who comes from a very middle-class background and gets to hear that even after scoring 680 her rank is 9200. And if that's the case, then you can see it yourself that not even all the 720 scorers cannot get into AIIMS Delhi. If it continues like this, the rankers will start to saturate and things like this will start to happen. Secondly, it's a sheer disappointment that 'cheating' was taken so lightly in this matter. You never know how many lives are dependent on this single exam. And still such blunt clarifications, nothing much to say, it's horrifying. Thirdly about grace marks which Alakh Pandey sir, NV sir and Nikhil sir too discussed. No detailed clarification even on that. #reneet24 #neetexam
