Ramesh brings up an exciting point: The new CATL battery technology, capable of charging in just 10 minutes, could revolutionize how we think about e-mobility. Imagine an EV with a smaller battery that can travel 400 km on a single charge. You can drive comfortably through the city or along the highway, stop at the next fast charging station for 10 minutes, and continue your journey. This technology makes large, heavy EVs with 95 kWh batteries that require 500 kW charging spikes obsolete—those demand levels are a challenge for the grid, especially in Europe. Instead, the focus should be on lightness and efficiency. Models like the BYD Seagull—light, affordable, and equipped with smaller batteries—could become the norm. Such a vehicle costs less than $10,000 to produce and is accessible to the masses. Why focus on luxury vehicles costing over €150,000 when the solution is simpler and more sustainable? A 200 kW charging station supported by local battery storage can provide the necessary power without overloading the grid. This is the vision: smaller, lighter cars accessible to everyone, driving the energy transition and shaping the mobility of the future sustainably. #Zeekr has a battery pack powered by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited batteries that can charge at 540 kW!!! The numbers are astronomically high and the charging anxieties and wait times are getting lower in exponential scales! - 95 kWh battery pack - 10-80% in impressive 11 min and 28 seconds! - in the process ~473 km of range added! I admit, there are not many chargers that can power this monstrosity of a requirement, but Zeekr following the footsteps of Tesla offers their own #600kW charging stations! There could also be solutions with very Small Batteries and induction charging Lanes every 200km… You could call a very light car with some additional Features ‚Robotaxi 3.0‘, e.g. like mine… But fortunately, the ID2 and Fisker Pear will excel such rubbish ideas!

@ LojoEV we already have a complete range of light weight EVs with EEC homogation that can petfectly match the vision..
