**FOUR TIMES MORE IMPACT IN 2024 📈** We came a long way over 2024, further than we could have anticipated just 12 months ago. In 2023 we recycled 288 tonnes of plastic across the year, a record for Eco Brixs at the time. However in 2024, we’ve surpassed that to create an even bigger environmental impact - recycling 1,226 tonnes of plastic. And as we pay the community for every tonne of plastic they bring to us, this has also meant a massive jump in our economic impact. In 2023, we’ve paid out $47,670 for plastic across the year, whereas in 2024 we paid (a staggering) $236,189 for plastic waste. This growth means Eco Brixs now supports 4,615 marginalised people with plastic collection jobs, which has increased from 3,000 people this time last year. This has been possible thanks to the support of our partners who have helped us to expand our circular model across Southern Uganda in 2024, in districts such as Mbarara, Fort Portal and Kalangala. This year, we're aiming to continue growing our model across the south, empowering more communities to recycle and access livelihoods, which will also include Eco Brixs working in Uganda's refugee settlements for the first time. More updates to follow on this in the coming weeks! In the meantime, Happy New Year from the whole Eco Brixs team! ♻️🎉 #circulareconomy #happynewyear #recycleplastic #economicimpact #environmentalimpact #newyeargoals

A groundbreaking project in Mukuru, Nairobi, is turning food waste into opportunity - and giving back to farmers and the planet ❤️ In Nairobi’s Mukuru slums, food waste isn’t just a problem, it’s a crisis. Piles of waste block streets, trap water, and release greenhouse gases. But an incredible project is buzzing with change. Using black soldier fly larvae, locals are turning waste into gold: organic fertilizer, animal feed, and a cleaner environment. The best part? This innovation cuts food waste by up to 70%, reduces methane emissions, and gives farmers like Moses Aswani affordable solutions to thrive. 🙌
