May 18th(Saturday): Kakitsubata at Ota Shrine Ota Shrine is located about 800 meters east of the main grounds of Kamigamo Shrine (Kamo Wakeikazuchi Shrine) in Kita Ward, Kyoto City. It is said to be the oldest shrine in Kamo, predating the relocation of the Kamo clan to Kamigamo. After the establishment of Kamigamo Shrine, Ota Shrine became a subsidiary shrine of Kamigamo Shrine. Ota Shrine has a history of deep faith from local farmers, worshipped as a deity of longevity and good fortune (improvement in arts, longevity). While many people visit Kamigamo Shrine, few seem to visit Ota Shrine, the oldest shrine in the area. Every year, around May 15, during the Aoi Matsuri procession, the irises (kakitsubata) bloom in clusters on the east side of the approach to Ota Shrine at Ota no Sawa, displaying beautiful deep purple flowers. Therefore, today, amid a daytime temperature rise to 30°C, I took a detour on my mountain bike from Aburanokoji-dori Takatsuji in Shimogyo Ward to the university campus in Kamigamo, heading a bit east from the front of Kamigamo Shrine to see the irises at Ota no Sawa of Ota Shrine (designated a natural monument in 1939). As more people come to visit Ota Shrine, we can ensure that such historically and culturally significant resources of Japan are passed on to future generations. For those who haven't been yet, it is a highly recommended place to visit.

🏠 🏙It is becoming increasingly evident that the outcomes of the FuturHist project could significantly impact the partner cities. Cities like Kraków, for example, are in dire need of energy-efficiency solutions for historic buildings and eagerly anticipate our project's results. Life in Kraków magazine informs about FuturHist and its possible effects on the stock of historic buildings in Kraków due to the cooperation between the Cracow Uniwersity of Technology, Urząd Miasta Krakowa and other FuturHist partners. 👉 https://lnkd.in/du66qE_h

🏰 👀 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗩𝗔𝗢 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 I had the great pleasure of visiting Kaprun Castle 🏰 as a location scout for the 7th symposium of the 𝙑𝙞𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡 𝘼𝙡𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙊𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 (VAO) in the picturesque Salzburg region. The castle, which has been completely restored by a private initiative, offers plenty of space for around 100 participants and a breathtaking 🗻backdrop for the three-day event, which will take place from April 2 to 4, 2025. 📢Further information and the programme will be published soon on the VAO website at www.vao.bayern.de , it's worth a look! 💡Registration will be possible from late fall. In a structure condemned by its own process, incapacity in management is demonstrated by the maintenance of the revolving cycle according to unchangeable rules. This is what I like to call organizational vice combined with functional and professional illiteracy. Very common in some older public institutions in Portugal, closed in a small and hierarchical toxic cycle. Not only the old age of it’s population, but the old age of the decisions even in young minds. Not poor by chance. The Dzhanibekov Effect is something so simple that it can be proven with a book or a tennis racket, but it has profound implications. It is a classic case of Real Science, where observation generates hypotheses that are proven by experiment, and the experimenter was honored. It got its name from cosmonaut Vladimir Dzhanibekov, who in 1985 demonstrated the effect in a practical way.
