Gosh this was fast; This feels like yesterday : - when Michael Ourabah and I were working relentlessly in our respective bedrooms to convince our firsts prospects and suppliers how incredible we were at the age of 21 years old. - when we were blacking out on the floor of our first datacenter as we worked all night 3 days in a row to deliver what we promised to those crazy enough to believe in us. - when we were doing pretty much everything from accounting, marketing, installing servers to securing our nascent network, moving to magical offices in La Defense, closing our first books with already a million euro of revenues without having a single penny to start but my father’s last resort banking guarantee for 40K Euro. - when Michael Ourabah moved to London to open our first international office while I was running the show in Paris, the way he had to reinvent our services to conquer a market with different expectations and codes than the French one. - our firsts employees without still getting a single salary and I could continue like this for so many posts... I remember all the sweat, tears, mistakes, near death experiences, joy, feeling of accomplishment, proudness to see in the eyes of our customers the gratitude to have delivered on our promises and having gone above and beyond their expectations without asking a penny more. BSO is not just a company it's a family, a long-term vision, a set of values that we are not only sharing with our teammates but with our customers, partners and suppliers. Most of which are entrusting us for much more than 10 years, this says it all. We are not here for the short run; We are here to stay to grow to innovate because our conviction is that even the most technological business is based before anything else on trust and long-standing human relationships. Now that Michael Ourabah and I reached our early middle age we tend to see through economic cycles with more clairvoyance, our determination and commitment is stronger than ever, thanks to a ton of unique benefits we did not get when we first started our journey: a super seasoned senior staff, some rock-solid financial partners, a flawless reputation, a galaxy of trustworthy technological partners and more than anything else 600+ incredible customers. A forever thanks to my partner in crime Michael Ourabah which has made what BSO is today and to just named a few Fraser Bell, Pelle Emmanuel, Laurence Saunier, Romain Mazet, Wilfried JOSEPH, Thierry Derreal and so many more... (sorry no space left) 20 years just past in the blink of an eye, let’s write the next 20 all together because BSO always deliver, no matter what! #BSO #TechJourney #Entrepreneurship #StartupLife #DataCenter #GrowthMindset #Innovation #Teamwork #BusinessGrowth #CustomerSuccess #LongTermVision #TrustInBusiness #FinancialPartners #TechIndustry

Another Local Pub Closing Its Doors—Are We Doing Enough? It’s a sad day as we say goodbye to the pub near our office—a place where deals were celebrated, teams bonded, and friendships grew over a pint or two. It’s not just a business closing; it’s a piece of our community being lost. This isn’t an isolated case. Across the UK, pubs are shutting down at an alarming rate, hit hard by rising costs, staffing challenges, and changing habits. The pub industry is at the heart of British culture, but are we doing enough to protect it? These closures highlight a bigger issue: - Are there enough policies in place to help small hospitality businesses survive? - Is the rising cost of doing business being addressed? - And, as customers, are we showing up to support these local gems while they’re still here? Pubs are more than businesses—they’re gathering places that bring communities together. Losing them means losing part of what makes a town or city feel like home. To anyone working in the hospitality sector: we see the challenges you’re facing, and we need to do more to support you. Whether it’s as policymakers, financial partners, or even just loyal customers, it’s time to take action before it’s too late. So glad the staff were able to get redeployed. #SupportLocal #HospitalityIndustry #SaveOurPubs #CommunityMatters

Restaurants, pubs, and leisure businesses are all under pressure right now. Come April, that pressure will be less but that's because many businesses won't be operating. It's not a new issue, and there's no clever solution. It's simple, really. Business rates need reform to make them fit for purpose, but at the very least, rate relief must remain. And if any government could be bothered to look at the VAT rate as well, that would be lovely. #restaurants. #hospitality #leisure #businessrates.
Great to see one of our clients on #ITVNews today, albeit in worrying circumstances. Like many #restaurants and #hospitality operators, Bleeding Heart's business rates bill is set to quadruple when the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Business Rates Relief scheme ends on 31 March 2025, costing the sector an additional £914 million. Kate Nicholls, chief executive of UKHospitality, warned that the increase would lead to more closures, leaving high streets with shuttered venues and rising vacancy rates. ------- 📈 With sector-specific reporting, Prysm Financial supports #hospitality and #restaurant entrepreneurs to grow their business with clarity and confidence: https://lnkd.in/eT7DJKSR

Interesting new research results here. People's consciousness is changing, it seems... read below for the full story 👇
Today we have published new research, in partnership with Keep Britain Tidy, into what motivates our re-use shop customers to buy second-hand items. Half of our customers surveyed revealed they were motivated by environmental reasons, with 20% inspired by saving money. As part of our ongoing investment into the development of our services and growing re-use network, we set out to explore what drives people to buy reused items. Keep Britain Tidy conducted the research on our behalf across our network of re-use shops, with face-to-face surveys taking place during May 2024 at 11 locations in Greater Manchester, Surrey, Devon, Calderdale and Aberdeen. The UK nightclub scene is facing a crisis, with over three venues closing every week—a trend that could see all nightclubs disappear by the end of 2029. ❌ The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) has launched the 'Last Night Out' campaign, using DIY rave-style posters to highlight what could theoretically be the last hurrah for British nightlife. The campaign predicts New Year’s Eve 2029 as the final night for UK clubs if urgent action isn't taken. The NTIA calls for government support, including financial aid, policy reforms and protection for culturally significant venues like Fabric and Ministry of Sound. 🕺 With 37% of clubs closing since the beginning of the pandemic, this initiative aims to preserve a vital part of the UK’s leisure economy and social fabric.
