It’s about time for those New Years resolutions, right? Just kidding, I don’t make those. Instead... Starting last year (inspired by Fin Leary) I started making a bingo card for the year. I draw a grid of 25 squares and put one goal in each of them. As the year goes on and I complete the goals (y’know, IF I complete the goals), I cross them off. You’re probably sitting there like, “Eli, that’s way too many goals!” But when I say “goals,” it’s not all hardcore “triple my income” and “run a marathon” types of things. The bingo card leaves room for soft and fun goals, too. Things like: • Read 25 books in 2025 • Take 25 days off • Stop work at 4 pm every day • Go ice skating • Work on art for fun • Spend time outside with my dog Some of these were legit things I put on my bingo card last year. Granted, my year did get derailed, but I still made bingo! And I’ve got one or two things I can still fit in before the end of the year. Anyway, 2024 taught me to prepare differently for 2025. My threshold for what’s achievable has changed a little, and I want my 2025 goals to be doable for present me. I like doing a bingo card because it’s less pressure. There are 25 ways to succeed. I don’t have to do all of them. I didn’t do half of them and I still got bingo this year! (Hint: If you’re having a rough life right now, put a few easy goals in a row.) Crossing off the little squares gives my brain a little dopamine reward boost, and it helps me remember that I set goals. Y’know, for those of us who forget about new year’s resolutions by January week 2. What’s on your 2025 bingo card? #NewYearsResolutions #2025Goals #2025BingoCard
I've never heard of bingo card goals, but I like it! It could work really well for shorter time-spans, too. (I'm always making lists of things I want to do "this winter" or "in the spring")

1wI really love this idea. I think my origin would be that I go to for the really extreme, lofty goals which yes why personally, I've gotten into the trend of doing a "word" and trying to have that be my guiding point for a year. I try to do one for business and one for my personal life but this year I've just done one for both and it's "harmony" as I don't feel like that exists right now between both.
