Many years ago I proposed to Fordham Law School that we host an event "The Future of IP in a China-Dominated World". The program never took place, and I am not sure if the public could readily grasp how China's policies on IP were likely to increasingly affect global discourse. However, a great topic never dies, and IP Watchdog is now picking it up, with the caption "Will China Replace the EU and US as the World's IP Leader?". Please join us for what I expect to be a spirited discussion, with many practical implications. https://lnkd.in/gn8Z8eiq

Creating value through IP is something that is easy to talk about but often hard to demonstrate unless there are value metrics such as licensing revenue, disruptive impact on competitors through forward citation analysis or clear differentiators in market share and/or revenue in countries where there are effective IP rights. It's extremely helpful for early stage start-ups in particular to know that patent & trade mark filings may help them be perceived as better long term investments and that some private equity supports such activities.
