Stepping Into the Role of Group Operations Director at TM Pharma Group I admit my LinkedIn activity is rather sporadic, but with a new chapter starting as the Group Operations Director at TM Pharma Group (TMPG), it felt the time was right to share a brief update. The last couple of years have been really eventful for us. Following my wife, Tracy Moore's departure from the MHRA post-pandemic, the need for her expertise became ever more apparent. Setting up TMPG, led to rapid expansion to 16 countries, with new pins on the map each week! My path to TMPG appears unconventional, yet to me, it aligns perfectly to industry needs. While Pharma innovators develop crucial treatments, the support services that underpin this process can slow their stride. My role ensures these services are part of the very fabric contributing to the main act of safe product design and delivery. Security of our team is a serious matter. We operate in complex times, and I've seen many instances where more security foresight, could have spared a great deal of trouble. A recent case in point: colleagues in another industry found themselves detained in a precarious situation overseas, despite being on a government-backed project. A reminder we must always be proactive about safety. Rest assured, safeguarding our people and ensuring our operations run smoothly is something I take very personally. I am lucky in many respects that TM Pharma started with the highest standards at the centre of everything it does, therefore my role is to maintain and improve those standards wherever we can (no pressure – its my wife’s company after all!). I have always acknowledged that others may be doing things in a way that sets a benchmark, and failing to recognise that can lead down a path of failure, so I come to the industry with very open eyes, adding my expertise where its needed, and learning from others as I go. As Steve Jobs once famously said, ‘you don’t employ experts to tell them what to do”… Our partnerships are built on trust, and we can count many of them as friends. This can only come when there is a mutual trust built around the same goals and objectives. Above all of them is the shared goal of patient safety. You may have noticed that our most recent partnership is with RegDev Inc. We have some exciting plans ahead with RegDev and we look forward to what the future holds. If you feel that you’d like to talk to us about mutual interests, drop us a line, or catch us at one of the many events we try and attend when work allows. I am looking forward to steering our operations forward, where expertise and innovation are not just buzzwords, but cemented as the very pillars of our workflow. What's important about this type of activity, is that we're starting to see more of these updates in the lead-up to what I expect to be a broader shift in the market. The sentiment from our partners across this space is that deal activity is very high currently, probably the highest it has been in 2024 and for some dating back further. As nice as it was to have a decent length break over the Xmas and NY period, and spend some quality time with family and friends, wasn't it nice to re-engage the old brain cells in work again from either late last week or in my case, yesterday (6th Jan)? Pharma tends to shut down over Xmas so it was a case of the usual rush to finish projects, raise final invoices and make sure all the details were pinned down before being able to sign off. I really enjoyed yesterday, re-engaging with colleagues, revisiting live proposals and contracts, and generally spinning myself back up again ready for the week to come. Looking forward to reconnecting with clients and making lots of new connections now we're back. As always, if you'd like to kick anything Insights related (primary, secondary, GTM, SFE) around as you spin yourself back into work mode we're around and always happy to chat and offer viewpoints / advice :) Have a great first week!
