Honoring Men in Business: Celebrating International Men's Day 💙 At EverHire, we are proud to work alongside exceptional men in the civil engineering and recruitment sectors - individuals who not only excel in their professional roles but also prioritize mental well-being, self-care, and the mental health of those around them. ✨ On International Men's Day, we take a moment to celebrate the often-overlooked aspect of men's lives: their mental health. Men, particularly in the business world, often face societal pressures to be resilient, strong, and problem-solvers - roles that can sometimes mask the emotional struggles they may experience. Today, we honor the men who are breaking down the stigma around mental health and encouraging open conversations, support, and vulnerability in the workplace. 💬 Business is about more than just success - it’s about fostering environments where people can thrive mentally, emotionally, and professionally. Whether as leaders, mentors, colleagues, or innovators, men in business have a unique opportunity to lead by example, championing mental wellness alongside traditional measures of achievement. As we reflect on International Men's Day, let's also recognize the importance of mental health in the workplace. Encouraging men to prioritize their well-being, seek support when needed, and create a culture where emotional health is valued as much as professional skill is crucial for long-term success.🌱 Let’s celebrate the men who are paving the way for healthier, more supportive business environments - where men and women alike are empowered to take care of their mental health and well-being.💙 #InternationalMensDay #MenInBusiness #MentalHealthAwareness #Leadership #BreakingTheStigma #BusinessSuccess #WellBeingAtWork

Honouring International Men's Day: A Moment for Reflection and Growth 💙 Today, on International Men's Day, I’m taking a moment to reflect on the men who have shaped my life, career, and the world around me. This day isn’t just about celebrating achievements; it’s also about recognising the challenges men face, both personally and professionally. It’s so important to create spaces where we can talk openly about mental health, emotional well-being, and the pressures that come with societal expectations. For me, it’s a reminder to check in with the men around us—whether colleagues, friends, or family—and support one another in breaking down barriers and building deeper connections. 🤝 I also want to acknowledge how essential it is for men to embrace both vulnerability and resilience, and how we can all contribute to creating healthier, more inclusive environments for everyone. 🌍 Let’s continue to build a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and empowered to be their authentic selves. 💪 #InternationalMensDay #MensHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #InclusiveWorkplace #Leadership #SupportAndGrowth #BreakTheStigma

Today I stepped out of my comfort zone and was part of an internal panel discussion for our WEN (Women's Empowerment Network) group, talking about the challenge of finding that work-life balance to around 40 colleagues (both men and women I am pleased to say). I was able to draw on my experiences as a mother of young children, in a full time role that requires travel. I was able to reflect on these and share my learnings with the group. So what are my 5 take homes from this process? 1. It takes a village - create your network both at work and home. 2. Don't miss out on the important life events - you can never get those back. 3. Communication - with your spouse, work colleagues, family and friends. 4. Planning is key (links to point 2!). 5. Create trust with your manager - they can help you find the balance that works for you (and ultimately the business). Thank-you Susie Easson for asking me to be part of this panel. Hanneke Huvenne and Kelvin Fletcher for sharing your experience too, and of course Marisa Overend for your guidance and prep support. #WEN #empowerment #worklifebalance #creatingharmony #reflection

How Work Friendships Can Change the World In the midst of a loneliness epidemic and dangerous polarization, can we find common ground where we least expect it: the workplace? Data shows that Work Besties improve our emotional wellbeing, productivity and corporate culture, but may also hold the key to solving some of our biggest societal challenges. In this provocative, inspiring and research-based talk, author and engagement expert Gabe Zichermann us how Friend Forward companies are counteracting major issues such as the implosion of DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), returning to the office, the loneliness epidemic and social/cultural polarization by supporting deep friendships among employees. Despite what many believe, good friends can have differences of opinion, stay connected and change the future for the better. watch the video here 👉 https://lnkd.in/ejt8EM44 #TEDxBerlin #ideasworthspreading #ChallengeYourPerspective

🌍 Celebrating International Men’s Day: It’s OK to Talk 🗣️ International Men’s Day highlights the critical challenges men face, such as mental health struggles, high suicide rates, and societal pressures. Today encourages us to break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health by promoting vulnerability, wellness, and healthy communication. 🔹 Did you know? ➽ Globally, men account for over two-thirds of suicide deaths. ➽Traditional views of masculinity hinder men from seeking help or expressing vulnerability. ➽A workplace that supports men’s mental health creates stronger, more cohesive, and resilient teams. As Caitlin Moran brilliantly articulated in 'What About Men?': “Men are not born with an innate inability to talk about their feelings; they’re taught it.” - This powerful insight reminds us that much of what we consider “masculine” has been shaped by societal norms — and it’s up to all of us to challenge these narratives and create spaces where men can thrive emotionally and mentally. At Dramatic Difference, we strive to create spaces for safe and open dialogue through tools like theatre-led workshops and our library of monologues based on real-life experiences, fostering psychological safety and gender equity. Here’s how we’re contributing: ✅ Hosting and facilitating workshops to deepen dialogue around diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. ✅ Sharing effective communication tools to foster psychological safety, well-being, resilience, and performance in the workplace. ✅ Encouraging positive human relations regardless of gender through self-awareness and collaboration. Let’s cultivate, nurture and nourish open conversations and celebrate the unique contributions of men in every sphere of life. Companies play a pivotal role in fostering safe spaces and encouraging dialogue for men. Below are some effective interventions that companies have implemented in the past. Yesterday was 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲, and I didn’t post about it. Why? Because I believe celebrating men doesn’t have to be limited to a single day, it’s about ongoing conversations, recognition, and action. In the workplace, International Men’s Day serves as a reminder to support men in areas we often overlook: mental health, work-life balance, and emotional well-being. With societal expectations pushing men to “𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙗𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜,” it’s crucial to foster a culture where vulnerability is not just accepted but encouraged. Here’s to creating workplaces that champion equality, empathy, and support for all. You will never walk alone.
