Have you heard about the term Cleantech? Do you know what it means? 🌱 The term “Cleantech”, short for clean technology, refers to any process, product and service that aims to reduce or eliminate negative #environmental #impacts while providing equal or superior #performances at lower costs compared to the current best mainstream #solution in that particular market. According to the European Commission, Clean technologies encompass a wide range of #innovations that help to create: 💸 cost-effective; 🌎 climate-friendly; 🤝🏻socially equitable responses to current;  🎯 future #challenges. 🔬 Some examples of #clean #technologies can be included in these categories and sectors: 💠 Energy Generation and Storage:  - Renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, hydro, etc.); - Advanced batteries and energy storage (e.g., solid-state batteries, flow batteries); - Smart grid technologies. 💠 Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing:  - Advanced materials and nanotechnology (e.g., graphene, smart materials); - Circular economy innovations (e.g., recycling and waste reduction technologies). 💠 Green Transportation:  - Electric vehicles and electrification of transport; - Alternative fuels (e.g., biofuels, hydrogen). 💠 Resource Efficiency and Environmental Technologies:  - Water purification and management; - Carbon capture and storage (CCS); - Air pollution control technologies. 💪 The heterogeneous challenges faced by the markets in embracing #sustainability despite increased government regulations and investments are further compounded by #regional disparities, territorial inequalities, and limited interconnection among various #ecosystems. 💎 Interesting?
