1. Client Engagement: We leverage the SDGs to assist clients in developing sustainable strategies, enhancing our capabilities through acquisitions and engagement with our teams, and sharing valuable research insights.
2. Operational Commitment: ERM upholds sustainability through policies, programs, and ambitious targets, including net-zero and science-based goals for greenhouse gas emissions. The ERM Foundation focuses on measurable contributions to 10 key intersecting SDGs.
3. Collaborative Efforts: Partnering with leading organizations, we actively contribute to the SDGs by participating in panels, hosting workshops, and sharing experiences to drive meaningful change across industries and geographies.

“Leaders must be mindful of their volume of sustainability commitments, to try not to ‘boil the ocean’, but to prioritise those areas where they can deliver material and sustainable change, as well as provide evidence of positive impact.” Tracey Groves at DWF features as a Distinguished Adviser in our Power Players report on Environmental, Social & Governance, imparting her insights. We can cover a breadth of sustainability-related topics and have experience of running sessions with various audiences from Boards of Directors to colleague networks.

A recent ERM Sustainability Institute report digs into the internal barriers for companies integrating sustainability into their business:
💡 Focus on short-term performance
💡The "sustainability as a cost" mindset
💡Insufficient related skills and awareness
These are only a few of the barriers that persistently make it hard for sustainability wins to be achieved within businesses. Luckily, there are many ways to overcome this from working with partners, and skilled sustainability consultants, to leveraging data and technology partnerships to future-proof your business.
The journey isn't easy, so collaboration and learning from successes within your industry should be at the center of sustainability discussions.

🛑 The new #CSRD directive has changed the way companies approach sustainability matters.
But with all the opportunities come challenges.
So, AXA Climate we gathered the members of our ecosystem of partners and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) community, to directly ask them what were their biggest challenges when it comes to double materiality analysis:
1️⃣ Overcome the fear of change, by integrating sustainability into risk methodologies, fostering collaboration and quantifying sustainability impacts.
2️⃣ Involve top management beyond a mere reporting exercise, ensuring alignment with longer-term sustainability objectives rather than solely focusing on short-term goals
3️⃣ Allocate enough time, resources, expertise, cross-departmental collaboration, clear governance and internal and external information to the double materiality analysis
4️⃣ Get over the fear of articulating risks by addressing concerns about readiness, competitive disclosure, and investor perceptions
This second video is the result of collaborative work led by AXA Climate with our ecosystem of 30+ partners and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) community in Paris.
