Got opportunity to be involved in review of a paper from world's one of best journals of Elsevier in energy conservation 'Energy Conservation and Management' (current Impact factor 9.9). It is a great feeling at age of 24. Wish to proceed forward similarly to contribute to scientific field. #Academia #Reviewer #Reviewcertificate #Peerreview #Research #JournalofEnergyConservationandManagement #Certificate #Energy

A new scientific article in the journal Energy and Buildings (JCR Q1, JIF 6.7) titled "Parametric simulation tool for the enviro-economic evaluation of energy renovation strategies in residential buildings with life cycle thinking: PARARENOVATE-LCT" in open access. The paper introduces a completely automatized script-based tool as a novel approach to the assessment of environmental and economic sustainability of energy renovation strategies in residential buildings based on life cycle thinking (LCT). This tool can aid the development of building decarbonisation policies and plans answering the European Union requirements and covering the performance gap, considering the occupant behaviour diversity and the economic uncertainty. The tool PARARENOVATE-LCT is developed inside the context of my PhD thesis, as the core of the methodology, which aims to investigate the assessment of the climate risk of residential stock towards decarbonisation based on the holistic enviro-economic sustainability analysis of energy renovation strategies under the LCT. Thank you for the the help and support of the coauthors of the publication and my PhD advisors Xabat Oregi Isasi and Lauren Etxepre. #decarbonisation #buildings #renovation #LCT #LCA #LCC LINK: https://lnkd.in/dDkbCQGu

🏛️ Trust in institutions is positively associated with public support for phasing out natural gas, and local institutions are seen as more honest and transparent than national institutions (which are considered skilled and knowledgeable). 🏛️ These findings with implications for how regional and national government officials can gain the trust of citizens and expedite the #phaseout of #fossilfuels are from "Trusting the minister or trusting the mayor? Perceived competence and integrity of central and local Dutch institutions governing energy matters", a just published paper by Gonzalo Palomo Vélez, Goda Perlaviciute, Nadja Contzen and Linda Steg (all colleagues or EP alumni). 🏛️ The researchers assessed the extent to which #Dutch people trust local and national institutions on the basis of either their integrity or their competence. "For institutions to gain the #trust of people, and therefore, increase the acceptability of their policies, strategies should focus on strengthening what people perceive each type of institution to be lacking", the paper reads. 🏛️ Local institutions should work on perceptions of their competence, whereas national institutions should improve their transparency and provide more opportunities for public participation. 🏛️ To secure public support for phasing-out policies, Dutch institutions could prioritize (perceived) integrity-enhancing strategies, like those targeting #publicparticipation, #accountability, and #transparency. #Australia is building undersea electrical transmission lines to SE #Asia, which could generate #export revenues and eventually replace #coal. Eventually, Australia could be the main energy provider for SE Asia if it plans its #solar, #wind and #transmission #infrastructure boldly and creatively.
Over twenty academic posters were presented during our Annual Research Review last year and they are all now available on our website! We will be sharing a few of the posters from across our Centre, starting with those under the Communities & Coexistence theme, but the quality on LinkedIn isn't ideal, so to view all of them in high quality head over to https://lnkd.in/gbaKAFBP. The complete list of posters presented under the Communities & Coexistence theme included: • Developing a Participatory Framework for Ongoing Social, Cultural & Economic Monitoring in the Beetaloo Sub-basin, Northern Territory (Katherine Witt, Debashish Dev) • Understanding Social Risks in CSG Brine Management (Katherine Witt, Amrita Kambo, Debashish Dev) • Lessons learned in gas industry operations (Katherine Witt, Amrita Kambo, Debashish Dev) • Future Gas Strategy – Public Submissions and Media Analysis (Debashish Dev, Katherine Witt) • Creating ‘Lasting and Meaningful Benefits’: What communities in Queensland’s Renewable Energy Zones expect from new energy projects (Katherine Witt) • An online tool for measuring cumulative impacts: What does energy resource development mean for local communities? (Katherine Witt) • What is Coexistence and how do we know if we have it? Quantifying the interactions between agriculture and CSG (2015) (Katherine Witt) The Communities & Coexistence research theme applies established and innovative social science methods to understand the complex social, cultural, policy and economic dimensions of energy resource developments. #uq #research #future #energy #resources #community #socialresponsibility

🔸INVITATION: EIRES Lunch Lecture | The energy transition: an integrated socio-technical perspective🔸 Technische Universiteit Eindhoven TU/e | EIRES – Eindhoven Institute for Renewable Energy Systems kindly invites you to join the 55th online EIRES Lunch Lecture on Friday 17 May 2024 | 12h00 - 13h00 (CET). In this presentation we focus on three core aspects in energy transitions. First, enabling flexibility: How flexible are consumers in their daily use of technologies given changes in their environment? Second, drivers and barriers of change: what are the triggers and barriers of technology adoption (PV)? How do adopters differ among themselves and how do they differ from potential and unlikely adopters? What role does technology co-adoption play? Third, connectivity and social norms: how do social networks affect technology adoption? When and how do they stabilize a transition process? 📆 Friday May 17 2024 ⌚ 12h00 - 13h00 (CET) 🏢 Online | MS TEAMS 🎫 Sign up for this webinar via the following link: https://lnkd.in/de9DV-ax 💡 This eLunch webinar is recommended to you by KIVI Electrical Engineering ▪ the #electrical department of ▪ Royal Netherlands Society of Engineers KIVI - Koninklijk Instituut van Ingenieurs #kivienergietechniek #partnering #eires #kivielectricalengineering #webinar #energietransition #kivielektrotechniek
