In this picture I see the reasons that make me proud of working at Politecnico di Milano on European projects and education programmes. Firstly, the picture showcases a united group of bright and motivated students who have just completed a challenging competition, embodying the spirit of innovation, resilience, and teamwork. Witnessing our students apply their knowledge with passion and excel in an international arena reaffirms our commitment to preparing them for global challenges. This underscores the value of our educational joint actions, co-designed at European scale through initiatives like #EUMaster4HPC. What I value most is their palpable desire to identify as European students and to have a positive impact on society. They push boundaries and go beyond existing perimeters to explore what lies beyond, build new meaningful connections, and realize their potential and aspirations. Moreover, participation in European projects and international challenges underscores the importance of collaboration and the exchange of ideas to broaden horizons. This is how we prepare students to become future leaders who value diversity and global perspectives, further emphasizing the role of education in bridging worlds, fostering understanding, and promoting innovation. Therefore, this picture is not just a snapshot of a triumphant moment after a challenge; it is a reflection of the broader goals and outcomes of our joint efforts. It symbolizes our dedication to nurturing a generation of students who are not only academically proficient but also socially conscious, responsible, curious, and eager to make a change. Their achievements and the enthusiasm with which they demonstrate their skills are crucial for advancing the fields of science, technology, and engineering. Today, we are thrilled to host our EU4DUAL - The European Dual Studies University partners for a workshop focused on identifying ideas for collaborative projects in Engineering for Sustainable and Digital Industry. Researchers from our universities will work on four key subtopics: Human-Machine Interaction, Additive Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, and Circularity. Zabala Innovation France provided a presentation that included a screening of upcoming calls and guidance for proposal submissions for collaborative projects. We extend our thanks to the 30 participants at ESTIA and the 12 participants who joined us online. EU4DUAL is a European initiative aimed at fostering dual education systems and enhancing collaboration between universities and industries. We fully share the thoughts of Marco Taisch, a lecturer at Politecnico di Milano, about the role of the Competence Centre, not only an aggregate of skills made available to students, but also a physical place. In order to adopt Industry 4.0 technologies, it is necessary to have a space where technologies can be shown and used for moments of training. Prof. PhD. Víctor Muñoz and PhD. Isabel García Morales, as members of the group dedicated to Digital Twins within the IMECH.UMA institute (University of Malaga) were at the kick off meeting of the European #DiTwin project last January, in Pesaro, Italy. The #DiTwin project aims to support VET teachers and educators in implementing the #DigitalTwins methodology to exploit the potential of distance learning in VET schools, providing students with advanced skills, in line with the changes of Industry 4.0. The project will have an impact on the employability of European VET students and synergies with advanced production companies. This project corresponds to the European call Erasmus Plus KA220-VET Collaborative Networks in the field of Vocational Education and Training. A crucial theme to address at this critical juncture for the EU 💡   As the EU enters a new legislative term, enhancing #competitiveness has become a top priority.
