The Power of ‘Thank You’ Giving someone constructive feedback in a genuine way to help them improve can sometimes be so hard that we refrain from doing so. This reluctance has been found in research to be due to the feedback giver underestimating the usefulness of the feedback, and overestimating the awkwardness of the person receiving the feedback. Our Mindflick strengths-spotting feature aims to cut through this perceived awkwardness of feedback, so that organisations can be on their way towards developing a thriving strengths-based culture. In this subtle upgrade of the strengths-spotting feature, we close the feedback cycle by allowing the receiver to express their gratitude. Gratitude has many psychological benefits such as improved self-esteem, motivation and relationships. Importantly, it reinforces behaviour change. By showing gratitude, it positively reinforces acting on the feedback, as well as the act of giving feedback. Doing so perpetuates a virtuous cycle of feedback, where a strengths-based culture can be built upon! #MindflickLabs
