Happy independence Day 2024 Hope that the country which was brought into separate nation on basis of Islam will get independence inreality. I wish this year that: ●May Our Youth gets equal oppurtunities regarding to employment, business and education. ●The previliged women get at least human rights to be called as independent. ●May We are provided with the basic facilities that we lack and get justice in actual so to be called as independent country. ●May we get the courage to speak out our opinions freely. #ShareYourOpinions #77thindependenceday #pakistanindependenceday #independencedayofpakistan #trending

Mariam Safi on Afghan Women’s Exclusion Under the Taliban Afghan women are facing the harshest effects of the Taliban regime — systematic exclusion from public life, education, and employment. Mariam Safi, Executive Director of DROPS, highlights how this deliberate effort to erase women’s rights is not only in direct contradiction to Resolution 1325 but also to the principles of women’s rights in Islam. #AfghanWomen #WPS #WomensRights #EndGenderApartheid #UN

You should demonstrate against Hamas. You should want better education for children in Gaza, not indoctrination. You should clearly say that you do not stand by what happened to Israeli women on October 7. Last week we had a conversation in the European Parliament about women rights, about rape as a weapon of war and about antisemitism in Europe. This was my contribution. Do we want a Western society where synagogues and Jewish schools need to be protected, or do we want a community where it’s not necessary and everyone can be everyone else’s guest? Our responsibility is to help make this kind of protection unnecessary. We must have a society with mutual respect. We must have the courage to defend European values. As member of European Parliament, I will always be a voice for justice and equality. The only thing scarier than the threats an individual receives is the possibility that extremists could have more power than we do to create positive change in the world. Assita Comments welcome

Islamic Rights: Women in Islam have the right to participate in political processes, including voting and holding office. Cultural barriers that restrict women's political engagement do not align with Islamic teachings that encourage active participation in community affairs.

𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝑯𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑹𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 𝑫𝒂𝒚, 𝒍𝒆𝒕’𝒔 𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝒐𝒏 𝒂 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚: In Pakistan, the need for strict compliance with human rights has never been greater. 🚨 Another Decree from the Taliban 🚨 The Taliban have issued a new rule: Houses with windows facing each other must either build walls or cover the windows. This decree is claimed to "protect women’s modesty," but it’s another glaring example of how the Taliban continue to enforce extreme restrictions on women and invade personal freedoms. From banning girls from schools to limiting their movement, and now dictating how people should live in their own homes—these rules are stripping Afghan women of dignity and isolating them further from society. 💬 What are your thoughts on this? How can we help amplify the voices of Afghan women? Let’s stand with them and continue the fight for their rights. 📢 Share this to spread awareness and keep the conversation alive. #Afghanistan #WomensRights #HumanRights #LetAfghanGirlsLearn #FreedomForAfghanWomen #StandWithAfghanistan #NoToOppression

#StatecraftInTheNews: In a shocking announcement aired on state TV, the Afghan Taliban declared their intent to reinstate stoning as punishment for adultery, rejecting Western ideals of women's rights. Taliban leader Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada defended this brutal practice, stating it aligns with their interpretation of Islamic Sharia law. He condemned Western interference, asserting their commitment to enforcing Sharia. Akhundzada's rhetoric was alarming, equating the West with the Devil and vowing to persist in imposing Sharia across Afghanistan. This signals a disturbing turn back to the oppressive policies of the Taliban's past. Human rights advocates like Safia Arefi and Sahar Fetrat expressed grave concern, denouncing the Taliban's actions as reminiscent of their oppressive regime in the 1990s. They lamented the lack of international intervention to protect Afghan women. The plight of Afghan women under Taliban rule has worsened, with reports of forced marriages, restrictions on education and employment, and other human rights violations. The Taliban's disregard for basic freedoms is deeply troubling. Amnesty International and other rights groups have documented numerous abuses against women and girls, including imprisonment, forced marriages, and denial of education. These violations must be condemned and addressed by the international community. Despite global condemnation, the Taliban remains defiant, implementing regressive policies that strip Afghan women of their autonomy and dignity.

🌍 The #UN High Commissioner’s recent fact-finding mission to Bangladesh highlights critical areas for fostering justice, inclusivity, and human rights in the nation's journey toward change: 🗣️ “Our fact-finding mission is investigating allegations of attacks against #minorities between 5 and 15 August,” the High Commissioner stated. “It is vital that the authorities respond quickly to any incidents reported, by conducting thorough investigations and holding perpetrators accountable. This will help build trust with minority communities, especially in light of troubling campaigns of misinformation and disinformation as well as hate campaigns on social media.“ 💬 The High Commissioner also stressed the importance of #inclusion: “The participation of ethnic and religious minorities in the reform structures, as well as of Indigenous Peoples, is also crucial.“ 🤝 With this journey toward lasting progress now underway, the UN Human Rights Office reaffirms its commitment to supporting #Bangladesh in promoting and safeguarding human rights for all. 🔗 Read the full press release here: https://bit.ly/3YLHXC8 #HumanRights #Indigenous #IndigenousPeoples #UN #PressRelease

I recently learned of the heartbreaking news regarding the decision made by the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council to allow Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). This decision directly contradicts the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) Constitution, specifically Article 35 which outlines the equal rights of women and men in enjoying the rights and protections provided by the Constitution. Despite some progress in protecting women's rights nationwide, issues such as domestic violence and the widespread practice of FGM in rural areas of Ethiopia persist. As a result, women are often viewed as commodities and are not given agency in family matters. I strongly condemn the recent decision made by the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council as it clearly violates the fundamental rights of women and human rights. It is imperative that such practices are eradicated to ensure the empowerment and well-being of women in Ethiopia. #Ethiopia #WomensRights #HumanRights #FGM #Equality #EmpowerWomen #EndFGM #CondemnViolence

#World_Minorities_Day, observed annually on #August_11, emphasizes the #protection of #ethnic, #religious, and #linguistic #minorities #worldwide. It highlights the need for their full participation in society. #Pakistan's #Role_and_Challenges #Pakistan, a #diverse nation, is home to religious and ethnic minorities like #Hindus, #Christians, #Sikhs, #Ahmadis, and groups such as #Baloch and #Sindhis. Despite constitutional protections, minorities face significant challenges, including #religious_discrimination, #social_marginalization, and #violence. #Blasphemy laws are often misused, leading to persecution. Government and Civil Society Efforts The Pakistani government has implemented legal reforms and reserved seats for minorities in the legislative process. Civil society organizations advocate for minority rights, working to raise awareness and push for greater inclusion. However, Pakistan faces international criticism for its handling of minority issues, particularly concerning #forced_conversions and #violence. #World_Minorities_Day serves as a reminder for Pakistan to recommit to #equality, #justice, and #tolerance, ensuring all citizens can live with #dignity and #security.
