An evening celebrating European cooperation and a common goal: paving the way for a sustainable and fair future 🌍🤝 Last Tuesday, at the legendary Victoria Bar in Berlin, you could feel the positive energy that arises when diverse people with shared goals and values come together. That evening, we awarded the winning projects from the public voting of the E.ON Foundations' European Climate Fund. This project is a shining example of what we can achieve if we combine our efforts and best practices and cooperate at European level – because climate protection is a challenge that transcends borders. Three great projects from Germany, Poland, and Slovakia convinced the public with their approaches to fostering an ecologically and socially just future: 🌲 “Zukunftswald Allstedt” by Deutschland Forstet Auf gUG: a campaign to plant climate-resilient trees in the forests of the Allstedt region in Germany, supported by a social media campaign to raise awareness and engagement. 💦 “The Invisible Common Good“: an educational and research project on groundwater in Warsaw, developing measures to safeguard it from the impacts of climate change. 🚲 “Fearless on Two Wheels“: a project initiated for Slovakian school children, which aims to encourage primary school children to come to school by bike by providing secure parking facilities and cycling courses. We’re thrilled to see all these inspiring ideas brought to life by engaged citizens from across Europe, and are happy to support them with our funding. A big thanks to everyone involved in this project, among them our dedicated partners from Fundacja E.ON w Polsce and the VSE Foundation for your outstanding commitment and support. We also thank our jury, Gesine Schwan, Paulina Fröhlich, Sophie Pornschlegel and Alina Laszlo-Orth. 📸 Jochen Zick #ClimateProtection #Europe #Cooperation
