🌟 Last weekend, our U8 Lionesses hosted Croft Juniors for a much-anticipated home fixture after agreeing to a reversal due to the recent heavy rains making their pitch unplayable. After weeks of rain it was like playing on a summers day 🌤️ It was a closely contested match, showcasing fantastic football from both teams. After trailing for most of the game, we made a remarkable comeback in the final quarter, with standout performances from Hattie ⚽️ and Ava ⚽️⚽️⚽️ helping us secure the well-deserved result. A special shoutout goes to Lillia for effectively applying the skills we practiced in training—it's always rewarding to see that in action! 💜 Player of the Week award goes to Ava for her impressive work rate and sharp finishing. Congratulations, Ava! 🏆 Looking forward to our next challenge! Thanks to Page Plumbing for sponsoring the team

Powerful perspective. This shows how resilience and mental strength are as crucial as skill. Turning past setbacks into current strengths is a powerful lesson, applicable both on and off the pitch. 🦁 🦁 🦁 #Resilience #Leadership
I used to think when I played getting knocked out on Penalties was unlucky! This picture is post 2006 penalty shoot out. The third time as a player I’d been knocked out in semis and quarter finals for England. Yesterday England went through to a semi final on Penalties. Saka recovering from a horrendous experience of being racially abused post Euro 2020. Palmer and Toney in their first tournament stepping up. Jude Bellingham at 21 years of age and still a baby. Trent Alexander Arnold having had a rough 2 weeks taking that final penalty. All these lads not only under the natural pressure of actually taking one but under the added pressures above. Whilst we have carried our luck in this tournament so far, winning on pens is not lucky. Having the right players in the squad, on the pitch, with the right information and mentally strong are decisions and qualities that this group have. Well done to Gareth and the players but particularly to those lads who took the spot kicks so brilliantly and with such composure. ❤️🏴

It's not often I find myself in agreement with Gary Neville, but on this occasion, I absolutely agree with his sentiment here! 🌟 In both football and business, success isn't just about luck or uncontrollable factors. It's about controlling the controllables and minimizing the impact of what we can't control. 🚀 🔑 In the operational delivery of contracts, just as in penalty shootouts, too often poor or positive performance is attributed to luck or bad luck. True success comes from: - 📚 Experience - 🏋️♂️ Practice - 🏫 Training - 📊 Forecasting - 📈 Data analysis - 🔍 Root cause analysis - 🤔 Honest self-reflection Whether in football or business, it's these qualities that drive success, not luck. 💼⚽ 👏 Well done to Gareth Southgate and the team, and a reminder to us all in the business world to apply the same principles to achieve our goals. 🌟 #Leadership #Success #BusinessStrategy #Teamwork #GaryNeville #Football #OperationalExcellence

Cole Palmer and Penalties Cole Palmer is now the joint top scorer in the #PremierLeague. In getting there he had converted 9 out of 9 penalties this season in the league. In the past couple of weeks he has scored penalties in completely different circumstances. He struck one against #ManchesterUnited in the 100th minute to tie the game up at 3-3. Last night against Everton, the complete opposite scenario. Already 4-0 up, he converted another penalty, despite his teammates insistence that they should take it. The big thing that stood out in each of these scenarios was Palmers routine. Despite being two totally different penalties in terms of situation and the impact of the outcome, Palmers own actions remained the same. Same steps back, same time to start run up, same type of run up and finish. Moreover, his demand to take the penalty, when the team were already 4-0 up, emphasises the importance of maintaining his own routine, but also the teams routine whenever they are awarded penalties (although I’d guess the Golden Boot also factored into this!). Everyone needs to know what is happening in these scenarios no matter what the scoreline is. It highlights the importance of maintaining a routine even in those low pressure situations, because those are where we get the practice to execute in the #highpressure situations. #ColePalmer is a great example for the effectiveness of a #PerformanceRoutine and how no matter the situation, it is something we can always control and execute. #SportPsychology #PerformancePsychology #SportPsychologist #Chelsea #FootballPsychology #Mindset

Check IRSCA's Instagram! https://lnkd.in/deEByKUZ ▪️After catching the ball a rugby player needs to gain as much speed as possible to either change direction or hit the opponent with the most strength available. ▪️Once the contact is established it is necessary to gain as much ground as possible with the opponent (or few of them) hanging on to you (carry dominance). ▪️To do that a player has to overcome his own body weight, his opponent’s body weight and additionally opponent’s overall strength. ▪️That’s why modified strongman training where heavy weight is pushed, carried or dragged correlates greatly to rugby performance. ▪️It teaches the player to overcome external resistance in locomotion, repeatedly, which is exactly what he experiences on the pitch.

Excited to share insights from our latest study tackling concussion risk in Rugby League. We analysed 196 concussions and 6,592 non-concussive tackles in the men's Super League from 2018-2022, and here are the key findings: 🏉 70% of concussions occurred to the tackler, 30% to the ball-carrier 🏉 Tackler head placement, ball-carrier arm position, number of players in the tackle and tackle height are important considerations for tackler concussions. 🏉 94% of ball-carrier concussions occur when initial impact is made to their head/neck. Therefore, a focus on safe and effective tackle technique including head placement and tackle height are required to reduce concussions in rugby league. Did #England win? Did #England just not lose? It doesn’t matter. Because #GarethSouthgate and his team survived and thrived in a #crisis. A crisis of confidence from the fans; a crisis with the bottom line (highly paid players perceived to be delivering poorly) and an opponent many ‘stakeholders’ had already handed the win to. I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes (about #football generally to be honest) but I would be prepared to bet that tonight’s win has more to do with #GarethSouthgate and team #wargaming every move, pass and set piece before every match and tournament than it does about natty waistcoats. He heads up a business; a multi-million pound business. He has to try to plan for every eventuality or no performance = no sponsorship, no support, no ticket sales & rubbished reputation. #Planning, #riskassessment and wargaming must be integral to every single business, whether that’s in sport or any other sector or industry. I’m no #football fan but even I’ve heard the #Liverpool legend #BillShankly’s words: “Some people believe football is a matter of life and death… I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.” On a roll with the hyperbole and drama of football, I would say so is business: A business without resilience planning can find itself left with nothing but a damning headline and a fragile bottom line because it didn’t foresee and practice the penalty line-up, because it didn’t consider different approaches for unpredictable opponents, or prepare for the unexpected. And that’s where Strategia Worldwide come in. We may not know much about football but business resilience, risk assessment and management, and wargaming are absolutely our ball park. Do get in touch to find out more about business resilience (but probably not about football as I’ve exhausted all analogies there…)
