The ocean sunfish or common mola (Mola mola) is one of the largest bony fish in the world. It was misidentified as the heaviest bony fish, which was actually a different and closely related species of sunfish, Mola alexandrini. Adults typically weigh between 247 and 1,000 kg. The species belongs to the Mola genus, one of three in the Molidae family. It is native to tropical and temperate waters around the world. It resembles a fish head without a tail, and its main body is flattened laterally. Sunfish can be as tall as they are long when their dorsal and ventral fins are extended. I found this giant around Nusa Penida! I also saw 2 other little ones in an earlier dive, so I was very lucky that day :) Enjoy this amazing video! #mola #molamola #sunfish #moonfish #nusapenidaisland #nusapenidadiving #traveltipsandstories #divingtipsandstories #strangecreatures #flatfish #uniquefish #fishspecies #molamolafish #nusapenidatour #indonesiadivingtrip #divingtrips #luckydivers #ilovediving #scubadivinglife #motherfish #canonr5photography #uwfilmmaking #onderwaterfilm #goprounderwater #oceancreatures #padidiveresort #scubajunkiefamily #advancedopenwaterdiver #deepdiving #divingcertification

Trying to manage not just the operations of Race Rocks but the thousands upon thousands of sea lions that reside within the reserve in the fall is like being a ringleader and a lion tamer blended together. It’s a hilarious balancing act of maintaining order within absolute chaos, with some sea lions having been trained to say yes and no by people to earn a better tip on a tour or for their own sheer entertainment, not considering the consequences of such actions. It’s an ecological reserve so this part of the job is not often understood. Yes, the wildlife has free rain, however, the interior, where the buildings sit, the lighthouse stands and elephant seals lounge and the eco guardian works, the currently lazy and yet at times extremely aggressive sea lions destroy and damage most everything so they must be kept along the borders, the outer rocks of Great Race Rock. The number one reason for this, though, is in fact that there are Native burial cairns. 7 Rings of rocks placed thousands of years ago, ceremoniously, that when sea lions move over them, roll the boulders easily and disrupt the traditions and history to which we do our best to protect. This balancing act gives the Eco guardian a space of maybe 100 metres diameter to move about for months on end while stationed and working as the sea lion tamer. • • #shareccpc #sharecangeo #shotoncanon #racerocksecologicalreserve #ecoguardian #explorevictoria #explorebc #explorecanada #hellobc #bcmag #bbcwildlife #bbcwildlifemagazine #natgeowild #yourshotphotographer #canoncanada #conservation #oceana #oceanwise #oceanwildlife #marinelife #bcferries #ecopcanada #unoceandecade #wwfcanada #rcgs_sgrc #theexplorersclub #conservethewonder #domoreforwildlife #sealion #sunset

Our water is of course extracted straight from the body of the world famous Loch Ness… Loch Ness Water’s special filtering process has been developed in close conjunction with the Scottish governing food and drink agencies. Each batch of water is rigorously tested to ensure that our consumers can be fully assured of the quality standards and has full traceability. The watershed of Loch Ness covers more than 700 square miles (1,800 square km) and comprises several rivers, including the Oich and the Enrick. Its outlet is the River Ness, which flows into the Moray Firth at Inverness. Seiches (surface oscillations), caused by differential heating, are common on the loch. The sharp rise and fall of the level of the loch is one reason for the scanty flora of the waters; another reason is the great depths of the loch near the shoreline. The abyssal fauna is also sparse. Loch Ness is one of those rare destinations that engages everyone, from children enchanted with Nessie, to adults interested in photography, hiking and more. It combines Jacobite history, stunning scenery and the possibility of a monster sighting, ensuring it’s a perfect destination all year round, for all ages. You can now take your own piece of Loch Ness in bottle with you anywhere 💧 #lochnesswater #lochness #lochnessmonster #lochnessmarathon #explorescotland #highlands #facts #factsoftheday
