A stroke is a type of brain attack that occurs when the blood vessels in the brain are blocked or burst, depleting the brain of oxygen-rich blood and causing brain cells to die. There are different types of strokes, including: • Ischemic stroke – caused when a blood vessel to the brain is blocked. This type of stroke accounts for about 87% of all strokes. • Hemorrhagic stroke – caused when a weakened blood vessel ruptures. • Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) – caused by a temporary clot. It’s considered a “warning stroke” and should be taken seriously. #strokes #typesofstrokes #strokeawareness

Stroke is a silent killer and can strike anytime. A stroke occurs when part of the brain loses its blood supply and stops working. Also called a Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) or "Brain Attack." The types of strokes include: Ischemic stroke (part of the brain loses blood flow) & Hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding occurs within the brain). Hi my #linkedinfamily, I have uploaded a video on a very very important topic, the "Blood Supply of Brain" today. It involves discussion of blood supply of whole brain. The anterior, middle and posterior cerebral arteries supplying the cerebral hemispheres are discussed first. The internal carotid artery basilar arteries are taken into account with great images. The formation of circle of Willis is discussed with 6 arteries contributing to its formation and its location and importance. Alongwith a beautiful image, visual mnemonic of the circle of Willis is presented for a memory aid. #Support please. #bloodsupplyofbrain #circleofwillis #basilarartery #internalcarotidartery #visualmnemonic #cerebralarteries #corticalbranches #centralbranches #vertebralartery #drsaqib #learninganatomy #support #like #share #comment https://lnkd.in/dnKP-tk2

Did you know that 1.9 million brain cells die every minute a stroke * goes untreated? *Large vessel ischemic stroke Source: Saver JL. Stroke. 2006;37:263-266 With #WorldStrokeDay around the corner, remember: every second counts when spotting a #stroke. Immediate care is vital to save lives and reduce damage. Let’s spread awareness and act fast. #DigitalStrokeLeaders #GreaterThan #GreaterThanChallenge #VoicesofStroke #TimeIsBrain #WorldStrokeDay2024 #VoicesofStrokeAngels #FAST

Ischemic Stroke Occurs when a blood vessel supplying blood to the brain is obstructed. It accounts for 87% of all strokes. Hemorrhagic Stroke Occurs when a weakened blood vessel ruptures. The two types of weakened blood vessels that usually cause hemorrhagic stroke are aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations .The most common cause of hemorrhagic stroke is uncontrolled high blood pressure. Transient Ischemic Attack Is a “warning stroke” caused by a temporary clot. Take this warning sign for stroke seriously . Cryptogenic Stroke In most cases, clots that block blood flow to the brain cause a stroke. Sometimes, the cause of a stroke can’t be determined. This is called a cryptogenic stroke. Brain Stem Stroke When stroke occurs in the brain stem, it can affect both sides of the body and may leave a person in a “locked-in” state. When a locked-in state occurs, the patient is generally unable to speak or move below the neck. #recoverytech #stroke #healthcare
