First I heard about this was this morning. So according to Bloomberg, the shooter's smartphone was a Samsung Android - and Cellebrite was reportedly able to crack it in 40-minutes. We don't know for sure what Cellebrite can or can't do with the latest iPhone models running the latest iOS. But now we do know what Cellebrite can do with a Samsung Android (no particulars known about model and Android operating system version). #cybersecurity #cybersecurityawareness #android #samsung #ios

Apple and Google made an announcement unveiling a collaborative effort to enhance user privacy across their respective platforms. They introduced a new privacy feature named “Detecting Unwanted Location Trackers”, designed to alert Android and iOS users when an unfamiliar Bluetooth tracking device accompanies them. 📢 This innovative feature commenced its rollout last Monday, seamlessly integrating into Apple's iOS 17.5 and Google's Android 6.0+ devices. With this update, iPhone users will now receive timely alerts bearing the message "[Item] Found Moving With You," indicating the presence of an unknown Bluetooth tracker in their vicinity.
