The Parliament requested an extension on 5 December, extending the scrutiny period 2 additional months. ℹ Delegated Acts register ➡ https://lnkd.in/dbvhnYDP 👉 The List is expected to be published in the EU Official Journal by late March / early April 2024, and will enter into force 20 days later 📊 What is in the List? 1️⃣6️⃣6️⃣ selected PCIs and PMIs: ⚡️ over half (85) are #electricity, offshore and smart electricity grid projects, with many expected to be commissioned between 2027 and 2030 🌱 for the first time, #hydrogen and #electrolyser projects (6️⃣5️⃣) are included, which will play a major role in enabling energy system integration and the decarbonisation of EU industry 🕸⚫️ the list also includes 14 CO2 network projects in line with the goals to create a market for carbon capture and storage #CCUS #EUGreenDeal

The topic of electric rates and #ratedesign can get pretty technical and wonky, but at its heart, what matters, arguably the most, is how it impacts #people (yes, and #climate, but we can't forget the humans!) Earlier this year, the MA Interagency Rates Working Group (IRWG), in response to some very insightful and effective advocacy, sought additional expertise to provide supplemental work to better address the #equity impacts of electric rate levels and rate changes on different demographic groups, with a focus on vulnerable ratepayers. This week, Destenie Nock, PhD of Peoples Energy Analytics presented on the first set of her recommendations. 💥 See her presentation: https://lnkd.in/e6Khmuad 💥 And recording: https://lnkd.in/echDvC5X What became clear was: 1️⃣ #energyaffordability needs a comprehensive approach and definition - it is not captured by energy burden 2️⃣ Demographics such as race and age can be distinctive determinants of energy use patterns 3️⃣ The power of data and analytics to advance energy affordability and equity (brought to light by the compelling and innovative work Destenie and her team are doing) 4️⃣ With these tools in hand, we don't have any excuses to not be supporting our most vulnerable households during the #energytransition What's next? Dr. Nock's recommendations include methods for incorporating better analytics into our rate impact analyses in MA. Let's make it happen...

In case you missed our announcement last week, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued a Notice of Petition for Rulemaking and Intent to Hold Tribal Consultation Meetings in FERC Docket No. RM24-9-000 in eLibrary: https://lnkd.in/eGpqRANy This notice stems from FERC receiving a request from the Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy (ATCE) to consider removing certain financial obligations in Order No. 2023 that ATCE sees as obstacles to Tribal clean energy development. ATCE asked FERC to review the financial requirements that Tribal Nations must meet to interconnect power plants to the electric grid, specifically with FERC’s commercial readiness deposit and withdrawal penalty framework in Order No. 2023. FERC is seeking input and feedback from the public about the petition for the next 60 days. Comments on the petition are due November 4, 2024 by 5:00 p.m. EST. Public comments are a crucial part of FERC’s review processes and provide key information about community, local, and individual concerns.
