Every STEP counts 🛣 On the road to sustainable trade fairs Sustainability at trade fairs is a complex topic. We focus primarily on the environmental compatibility of trade fairs and congresses within our sphere of influence. Taking steps in the right direction takes commitment, time, and looks different depending on your company or organization. We are aware of that - which is why we operate on a grading system where companies have to achieve a minimum score to qualify for the Sustainable Exhibitor Award, but they don't have to reach 100%. All you have to do is fill out the survey and submit supporting documents. 🌱 Embodying the step-by-step mindset, our grading system ensures that every measure contributing to a greener future is acknowledged and appreciated. You don't have to fulfill every aspect included in the survey, since we consciously promote and reward individual measures, as these ultimately form a whole. Our conviction is that every step towards a sustainable future is important. This approach is also reflected by the two possible awards winners can receive - Silver and Gold. And even if your sustainability strategy for trade fairs does not quite reach the threshold needed for either of them yet, you still profit from taking part in the free survey. Get insights into what might be missing, so that you can succeed on the next try! Sustainability is a journey, and everybody that joins it contributes to making the trade fair world a greener place. Who's the driving force behind STEP? 🌱 As our team works toward more sustainable trade fairs, let's continue introducing ourselves. Last week, we introduced Benjamin Low, and this week, our spotlight is on Arun Sharma. Who is Arun Sharma? Arun has been our Sales & Account Manager since the end of this April. He manages our customers by taking care of their needs and helping them with their sustainability at trade fairs. This dedication to connecting those interested in making the trade fair world more sustainable makes him a central point of STEP's vision: "At the heart of our mission is building a community committed to sustainability in the trade fair and event industry. By recognizing and celebrating sustainable leaders, we take crucial steps towards making trade fairs and exhibitions climate neutral. Our collective efforts are driving meaningful change, demonstrating that every step towards sustainability, no matter how small, contributes to a greener future." Let's work together to create real change with the STEP Team: Markus A.W. Hoehner, Steffen Klink, Jens Mürke, Ben Low, Svenja Putz, Eva Francis Benz, Julia Lünnemann, Mark Wilzinger, Jonas Koslowski and Kim Louise Wiersberg! #Community #CSR #CorporateSustainability #Sustainability

Sustainability as the key to the future 🌍 Sustainability isn’t just a trend; it’s a cornerstone of our strategy. At Koelnmesse, we embrace innovative solutions to reduce our ecological footprint and create forward-looking events. 🌱 A recent study of German companies shows we’re on the right track: The consultancy ServiceValue and the F.A.Z. Institut have recognised us as a “Pioneer in Sustainability 2024” in the trade fair locations category. 🏆 This accolade was based on an AI-powered reputation analysis of approximately 15,000 companies across several hundred million online sources – including news sites, social media channels, blogs, and forums – between October 2022 and October 2024. 📊 Being a pioneer means taking responsibility and working hand in hand with our partners to develop sustainable solutions. After all, trade fairs are not just meeting places for industries – they can also be drivers of sustainable progress. 🤝 #koelnmesse #tradefairer #natureeventscommunity #nachhaltigemesse #sustainableevents #sustainabletradefair

🎤 On the future of sustainability in the trade fair industry Gaining new perspectives by having conversations with each other is a vital part of creating a more sustainable trade fair industry. We recently had a great interview with Ove Petersen, Co-Founder and CEO from GP JOULE Gruppe, one of our founding members, about sustainability at their company, in the industry and about their connection to STEP. 🌱 When asked how he thinks the topic of sustainability will develop in the trade fair industry, he shared: "Trade fairs are a mirror of society and the economy. They pick up on trends and build bridges to the future. The omnipresent topic of sustainability will therefore also receive increasing attention here and gain in importance overall. And that is a good thing. The origin of materials, their reusability, transportation and recycling will be topics against which organizers, suppliers, exhibitors and stand builders will be measured." 🌍✨ We are thrilled to announce that Global Green Europe will be part of PRS 2024 edition in Amsterdam! ✨🌍 We at Global Green Europe are proud to participate as exhibitors at one of the most important events in the plastics recycling sector in 2024: PRS (Plastic Recycling Show) in Amsterdam. 📆 Date: 19 and 20 June 📍 Location: Hall 9 - stand 130 The last time we took part in a trade fair was in 2019 in Suzhou, China. Since then, we have been waiting for the perfect occasion to connect with the industry on a large scale again. Having a budget for trade fairs in 2024 of over 25,000 €, we chose the increasingly popular PRS Amsterdam to introduce our plastics inside a more-than-20-m2 stand. Three of our four salespeople will be available to strengthen relations with vendors and clients. 🌱 What can you expect at our stand? - High-value plastics aimed at recycling in the automotive sector. - Plastic for consumer use in India and Southeast Asia. - A chance to interact with our experts and discuss how we can help your company to reach your annual output objectives. - Information about our growth projects. PRS has gained the recognition as a crucial event in plastics recycling, and many of its halls are aimed at this topic. After attending PRSE in 2023, we realised this was a unique chance to introduce our products to the automotive sector in the north and centre of Europe, a region where we expect to have a more continuous presence. 🔗 Visit us at our stand at PRS Amsterdam and find out how we can make progress together and reach a more sustainable future. 💬 Would you like to contact us before the event? THE TIRE COLOGNE 2024: For a European Circular Economy ♻ Change starts in Cologne - Today, at the leading international trade fair THE TIRE COLOGNE, representatives of the tire industry signed a waste tire resolution of the Alliance for the Future of Tires (AZuR). Among other things, they demand that all tires used in the European Union be reused or recycled in the European Union. 📝 A lot is at stake: According to AZuR, around 3.5 million tons of scrap tires are produced annually in Europe alone, which is the equivalent of 560 scrap tires per minute. The signatories demand that as much of this as possible should be reused as raw material – sustainably, regionally and without long transport routes. 🌱 The AZuR network of over 70 companies, associations, NGOs and universities strives for a truly circular economy for tires. This "Circular Economy" is an important focus at this year's THE TIRE COLOGNE. 🔄 Thus, Koelnmesse Managing Director Oliver Frese emphasized the importance of the topic, the resolution and the trade fair itself: "THE TIRE COLOGNE leads the way when it comes to sustainability and today sends out a clear signal: THE TIRE COLOGNE is both a platform and a trailblazer for the industry. It paves the way for a sustainable transformation." 🗣️ 📸: Koelnmesse GmbH / Maxi Uellendahl #tradefairer #natureeventscommunity #nachhaltigemesse #sustainabletradefair #sustainableevents
