Valeo and TotalEnergies expand partnership to enhance EV batteries 🔋 Valeo and TotalEnergies have expanded their partnership at this year's Paris Motor Show, focusing on the enhancement of electric vehicle (EV) battery performance. This collaboration aims to develop a new cooling solution for EV batteries and create a single fluid to improve thermal management across the vehicle. Since the partnership's inception in 2022, the two companies have been working on a cooling system that utilises liquid dielectric technology. Valeo Power Division chief technology officer Christophe Delhovren said: “Since the beginning of our partnership in 2022, the collaboration between Valeo and TotalEnergies has led to faster development of innovative, safe and effective solutions for the thermal management of batteries. The system is designed to maintain an optimal battery temperature, which can enhance battery autonomy, reduce carbon footprints, and minimise fire risks. Field trials are currently assessing the system's effectiveness, especially during rapid charging. The second initiative of this collaboration is to extend the benefits of the new immersive fluids to other vehicle components. The objective is to develop a thermal management system that can improve energy efficiency and extend the range of future EVs. TotalEnergies chief technology officer Marie-Noëlle Semeria said: “The partnership between TotalEnergies and Valeo will bring innovations to the thermal management of batteries and EVs by using immersive fluids that enable very rapid charging while preserving battery life." #automotive #partnership #ev

As demand is growing consistently, we need to be ready to anticipate the market’s needs. And through #JOINON we aim to do just that: extending and facilitating #emobility by making it more accessible and manageable, with excellent recharging solutions.
