How will you receive this critically important ask from immensely trusted leaders in our society participating in the "sirens for life challenge" (your country may have a slightly different version)? This particular version is for Ottawa but it is important everywhere. Insert your own city. This ask is always important but why is this perhaps a bit more special, now? Three things: 1) For the northern hemisphere, now is a time of holidays with many very important distractions and not much time to donate (perhaps?). 2) Ironically, these distractions, increased travel and increased extracurricular activity can create increased need with more accidents needing medical attention. 3) This ask is coming from the first responders who witness first hand the trauma and injury that need donations to heal the injured and save lives. If you're able to carve out about an hour of time, please register and donate to save a life. There's an absolutely outstanding team that will assist you through the process.

Engaging in community obligations is essential for business houses looking to build trust, loyalty, and a sustainable presence in their communities. When businesses contribute to community welfare, like Bige Fuel Station sponsoring fuel for police, they strengthen relationships with local residents and authorities. This support goes beyond financial contributions—it’s a commitment to addressing local needs, enhancing security, and fostering a safer environment for all. In today’s world, business and community impact go hand-in-hand, and it’s crucial for us on LinkedIn to keep a positive, solution-focused outlook. Instead of seeing challenges as barriers, we can view them as opportunities to step up and make a difference. If we have the means to create positive change—whether it’s supporting local services, giving back to the community, or innovating within our industry—let’s do it! Every meaningful action strengthens our collective progress. Let’s lift each other up, focus on proactive solutions, and encourage other businesses to adopt similar values. The difference we make starts with a shift in perspective. Complaining won’t solve problems, but collaboration and a constructive mindset will. Together, we can create a ripple effect that drives social and economic development in our communities.
Bige Fuel Station, located at Dogura in the Central Province, on Friday, November 8th, donated K100 worth of fuel to each of ten police vehicles in Port Moresby for the weekend’s Drunk Patrol operations. Read more: https://lnkd.in/g_WRrkN7

This commercial had me in tears - emotional storytelling done right. You don't need to know Hebrew to get the gist of it. As background, when October 7th happened, thousands of Israelis who had been abroad ran back to Israel to fight or help however they could. Most flights into Israel were cancelled because the airport was under missile attack from Gaza, and El Al was the only airline flying in. The returning Israelis, many reservists, packed the planes and then went straight to meet up with their units when they arrived. Why is it so effective? - The inciting incident connects us back to the emotions that we in El Al's main customer base (Israelis and diaspora Jews) experienced as we learned the news of what was happening on October 7. - The storyline was true-to-life. Many Israelis spend time traveling the world after their army service like the main characters. And most of us in Israel know someone (or were that someone) who rushed back and had to navigate the puzzle of finding an available flight. - After evoking the painful emotions at the beginning, the ad resolves with our characters finishing their service and returning to their adventure, giving us hope that we also can get back to some semblance of our previous lives (and the travel we've put on hold). - Their new tagline at the end, "Fly with the Flag" is a reminder that El Al is the airline that came through for our country when we needed it. While many disparage the company because of customer service problems and pricey fares, this tagline reinforces the connection to the audience's core value of love for our country. Well done, EL AL Israel Airlines - kol hakavod! https://lnkd.in/eeuRsSkP
Since the start of the war, we've maintained Israel's vital connection to the #world, ensuring your #safety wherever you are, with a genuine sense of Israeliness that makes you feel at #home globally. Last evening, we launched the "Fly the Flag" #campaign, in which we donated 15% of our advertising space to the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, a cause close to our hearts since day one. Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming initiatives expressing our gratitude to the dedicated men and women serving in the #idf, both in active and reserve duty. For many people we support, the recent far-right protests have roused feelings of insecurity in a place they call home. Some of these people have fled war, conflict and persecution, with no other choice but to leave everything behind in search of safety and security. Instead, they’ve been met with hostility – and most recently, violence - no doubt adding to the trauma many of them have already experienced. Our teams are doing all they can to support our refugee and asylum-seeking clients, reminding them that the majority stand in solidarity against this terror and violence, and that the UK can provide a safe haven to raise their children and rebuild their lives. As a charity working in the heart of local communities, can you help us restore the community values of acceptance, trust and respect? You could use your time to make a real difference to the lives of people who are rebuilding their entire existence here in the UK by volunteering with us: https://ow.ly/yQ3H50SYhmG Or you can donate to help us continue supporting these marginalised communities: https://ow.ly/xYl150SYhte

Today, Lebanon faces conflict that echoes the tragic events of the Beirut barracks bombing, which occurred 41 years ago, claiming the lives of 241 U.S. service members—most of them Marines. Their sacrifice serves as a powerful reminder and inspiration for our mission at Grey Bull Rescue. For months, our dedicated operations team has been on the ground in Beirut, working tirelessly to rescue civilians at risk of extreme violence. As the situation escalates, we are actively rescuing Americans by air, land, and sea. With around 86,000 Americans still in Lebanon, our commitment to ensuring no one is left behind is more critical than ever. Our highly trained team of Grey Bull Rescue Operators and Case Managers stands ready to assist those in need. In these challenging times, we hold fast to our core value: "Don't be a Spectator." We cannot do this work without the generosity of our donors and volunteers. As the world gets more dangerous, we all need to band together to ensure that no Americans get left behind in times of crisis. Your support can make a life-saving difference. 🆘 If you have a loved one in need, please reach out here: [Request Help](https://lnkd.in/eYW6uRXS). 🆘 If you’re able to contribute, please donate here: [Pledge Your Support](https://lnkd.in/ehsb6T6U). #BeirutNeverForgotten #GreyBullRescue #ServingWithHonor #BeirutMemorial #SemperFi #GreyBullRescue #Beirut #Labanon #Evacuations #Rescue #MiddleEast #Nonprofit

Such initiatives not only honor the memory of a valued colleague but also make a tangible difference in the lives of families facing adversity. It's inspiring to see organizations prioritizing social responsibility and fostering a culture of inclusivity and support.
