🚢🌊 New Initiative: Baltic FIT Project for Maritime Decarbonization! 🌊🚢 We are thrilled to introduce the Baltic FIT project, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at building a network of excellence among organizations from the Baltic Sea Region. This project is designed to help maritime transport meet the 'Fit for 55' regulations, focusing on decarbonization over the next three years. Our innovation strategy, consisting of five key objectives, aims to strengthen the positions of TalTech Estonian Maritime Academy, TEKNOLOGIAN TUTKIMUSKESKUS VTT OY, and RISE Research Institutes of Sweden in the field of maritime decarbonization, with the support by Anrömind OÜ Our journey began on June 3rd with a productive introductory meeting where we discussed our primary goals and the collaborative efforts needed to drive this project forward. Key activities will include innovation workshops, strategic R&I planning, summer schools, and short-term staff exchanges. We also look forward to joint innovation projects and conference attendance to share our findings and advance maritime decarbonization. Robbie Woods, Programme Director for Te Utanganui, recently took to the stage at the Future Roads Conference, a premier event for New Zealand’s roading sector. Te Utanganui is a unique intermodal distribution hub, strategically located in Manawatū and servicing New Zealand. In his presentation, Robbie highlighted this strong positioning - connecting rail, road, air, and sea. It was also an opportunity to update the roading industry on the progress made and future plans and opportunities for the project. This week, Primafrio participated in the 3rd General Assembly of the European ZEFES project, celebrated at the headquarters of Volvo Trucks in Gothenburg (Sweden). The meeting gathered the project partners together with representatives of the European Commission and the IRU, and in which our company was represented by Dr.-Ing. Adrián Valverde Mateo, Chief Innovation and Sustainability Officer.   Over the course of two days, interesting conclusions and important milestones for the future of the industry were reached, with Spain playing a leading role. In this regard, Primafrio is pleased to share that the Spanish corridor, from Lepe to Le Boulou, has been officially defined, a new decisive achievement for international long-distance zero-emission transport that will connect Spain with France. In addition, major infrastructure challenges such as the establishment of MCS (Megawatt Charging System) and HRS (Hydrogen Refueling Stations) have also been clarified.   At Primafrio, we work hand in hand with European institutions, standing out as one of their strategic partners, to promote innovation and sustainability in the future of logistics and transport. Therefore, we are proud, to be part of the AEVETO cluster (Advanced Electric Vehicles for Efficient and Economic Transport Operations), as the only company in the sector involved in both the ZEFES and ESCALATE - Horizon Europe Project promoting the future of zero-emission heavy transport throughout Europe.   Therefore, we are particularly happy to host the final event at our headquarters in Alhama de Murcia, where the results of the ZEFES project will be presented in November 2026, welcoming more than 40 project partners and other stakeholders.   We are convinced that, thanks to close collaboration and a shared vision, we will bring Europe closer to a carbon neutral future.   #Sustainability #ZeroEmissions #ElectricMobility #Hydrogen #Primafrio #ZEFES #AEVETO #Innovation #Logistics

💧 The utility company Wiener Stadtwerke hosted the Center for Advanced Technologies Sarajevo (CNT), and they are united by a common vision of the wide use of green hydrogen in various sectors. CNT is already actively working on the use of hydrogen, and now they had the opportunity to visit the facility for its production, which will enable Vienna to switch to renewable energy sources and achieve climate neutrality by 2040. The delegation also had the opportunity to get to know the projects of the public transport company Wiener Linien, which uses green hydrogen for its bus line 39A, and the city's waste management department Die 48er (MA48), which uses hydrogen vehicles for waste removal. We hope that this visit will open the door to future cooperation and joint work to promote green hydrogen and sustainable technologies in different sectors. #zelenivodik #održivaenergija #CNT #vienna #klimatskaneutralnost

One week to go! ⌛ On May 2, DB Cargo Scandinavia will operate an intermodal test train in Hirtshals (DK) to launch a pilot project aimed at demonstrating the feasibility of a rail freight connection between Norway and continental Europe through the Jutland Corridor. 🆕🛤 The new connection - a collaboration between DB Cargo Scandinavia, CargoNet AS, Nordjyske Jernbaner A/S, Port of Hirtshals - Hirtshals Havn, Port of Kristiansand IKS, Larvik Havn KF, and Grønn Jyllandskorridor - will be ready in 2025. 📅 The aims? 🔸 Opening up new possibilities for customers 💡 🔸 Making the rail freight price competitive with road transport 💶 🔸 Getting rail freight ready for hydrogen transport and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) projects ⛽ 🔸 Connecting Hirtshals to Duisburg (DE) within 20 hours leadtime ⏱ 🔸 Saving 1.600 kg of CO2 compared to road transport 🌿 🔸 Increasing capacity from Kristiansand to 12 terminals in Norway 🚃 ScanMed RFC strongly supports this project and the reinforced cooperation between railway undertakings and ports which made it possible. To underline the Corridor's backing, several RFC representatives will travel to Hirtshals. In particular, Managing Director Furio Bombardi will deliver a keynote speech, while President Linda Thulin will participate in a panel debate on the policy perspective. 🎤 We would like to thank DB Cargo Scandinavia for the invitations and compliment all project partners for the initiative.
