Opening speech by François Jacq, CEA's CEO and EARTO - European Association of Research and Technology Organisations President. Critical issues are numerous and #Europe is lagging behind.... in terms of economy, as well as for #research and #innovation! But as mentioned in the Draghi and in the Heitor's report "Align, Act, Accelerate", RD&I is also an essential factor for EU competitiveness. In the next #MFF, the #Competitiveness fund should be used as a catalyst of RD&I investments! And we as #RTOs are strongly supporting industrial scale-up in Europe!!

🔬For its long-term competitiveness, the 🇪🇺 needs to do more to attract and retain private Research, Development, and Innovation (RD&I) investments in Europe. We joined 109 European associations in urgently calling on the 🇪🇺 Institutions to allocate more resources to the next European Framework Programme for #Research and #Innovation (FP10).
